Problem with files (Pumpkin adventure 3)

Sometime ago I ordered Pumpkin Adventure 3 from Sunrise and I got the files via Email in several different formats and I don't really know what to do with them. In the .zip there's: savegame.pa3, pa3dos.bas, pa3disk4.lib, pa3disk3.lib, pa3disk2.lib, pa3disk1.lib, pa3.bat, pa3-boot.bin

How do I make .dsk files out of them to be able to write them to disk? Thanks for your help. Smile

Ok, thanks! I should do that then. I have just seen .dsk images before, so this was new to me.

Those lib files are libraries. They contain the complete thing (code, gfx, music). The bas, and bin are just used to load a lib... If you put disk2.lib in disk1.dsk ... etc ... disk4.lib in disk4.dsk and the rest in disk1.dsk you should be able to play the game on an emulator...
If you put all files in one dir on a CF card, you don't have to change disks when playing on a real machine...

You meant put disk1.lib on disk1.dsk of course.

Each LIB file fits one floppy-disk (just copy one lib to one disk). The other files should be on the first disk (which also contains pa3disk1.lib). use pa3.bas in BASIC or pa3.bat in DOS to start the game.

Or, copy all files in the same directory (might also be the root) of a hard-disk an be done with it.

So, you didn't get the 'original' disks? I'm asking cuz PA3 was copy-protected. Disk 1 should always be in the drive. I have removed the disk-check before but can't remember if it was for HD distribution. (I was involved in writing PA3).

I have received a PA3 version for use on a HD/CF from Sunrise a few years ago. It does not need the original disk in the drive and works on a real MSX and on emulators perfectly. So I guess the version sunrise is distributing has the copyprotection removed.

Thanks for all the help guys! Smile

The whole thing went like this: I had bought this game about years ago from Markplaats as a part of one lot, but didn't receive the disks 3 and 4. So, I have the original disks 1 and 2 and then I ordered the whole game from Sunrise and got it by Email. Because of that, I haven't actually tried to copy the first disk as I have it as an original, but as Creepy said probably they've removed the copy protection by now.

And for the game: I just started it and was pretty impressed roaming the Fawlty Towers. The story seems to be a bit cheesy (second coming of Jesus Christ and stuff), but still it managed to capture me with it's nice atmosphere and great programming (f. ex. loading times and graphics and Moonsound music are such a treat!).

Akuguchi, when did you order it? I ordered mine on the 13th of September. Maybe I can extrapolate a due date.

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question: I ordered it more than half a year ago (and received), but played it just now - so it's an old thing.
