Yez, I'm wondering... Save your game in Hydlide 3?? How do you do that??

I bought Hylide 3 on E-Bay last week.

After 'reading' the Japanese hardware manual of hydlide 3 and blinking 60 times per second with my eyes I discovered some English words saying SRAM Pana FM-Pac and Tape error....

That means enough I think but I always thought there was an SRAM inside the cartridge of Hydlide 3...

So the only method is saving on cassette (whaaah) or the SRAM from the Japanese FM-Pac???

What a bummer.... Crying

As he's talking about an ACTUAL cartridge, he'll need a MSX Game Reader to do that. Smile

game reader? why lost valuable money and time searching for that, if using a emulator? he can legally download the game from funet or baú de jogos, since he owns it legally Smile Smile Smile

Please refrain from naming warez sites like that, even if you do not put the links in them... It's against MRC's policy, and can get your post deleted. After all, the MRC wouldn't like it if your post (and their page) turned up as first hit when doing a Google 'download msx game' search, pointing right to the location where to look.

On topic: I don't think I would like having to play it on an emulator Smile. And if I must, if has ofcourse a higher 'coolness' factor if I could use the actual cartridge for that instead of some ROM image. But, I would suggest another option, just leave your MSX on while pausing the game Smile.

Yes Grauw, that's my opinion too... I just bought the game but made the mistake of thinking that Hydlide 3 has his own SRAM.

It's still a wonderfull box and the transparant cartridge is a nice eye-catcher if it sticks out of your cartridge slot.

Leave my MSX on until I finished the game???? That's an idea, but Murphy's Law is just around the corner so while fighting with one of the last monster/big bosses a electrical shortcut will happen...

And I will Crying

well If you get a hold on a real FM-PAC you will also be enjoying some FM tunes (right?)
then you get 2 objectives for the price of 1!

(can't imagen an FM-pac is THAT expensive these days)

Hydlide 3 doesn't support MSX-MUSIC... Just (FM-)PAC SRAM.
But indeed, an FM-PAC is always a good investment Smile

Saw one for sale on eBay for 30 euro's recently. Another one (in worse shape, not even sticker etc. but functional) for about €10.

hey! calm down, you paranoid! you must be drinking too much coffee! Shocked!

he can download Hydlide 3 from any website since he owns the original cartridge. i just gave little tips

what a stupid idea leaving msx turned on! maybe he should put a nobreak? hehehe hahaha! and if the game crashes for any other reason? he will have to play all over again? this is a RPG, not a dumb shooter. only bums play the same RPGs again and again
