We all know and probably have played to death the japanese MSX classics like Metal Gear, Knightmare, Nemesis, Snatcher, Space Manbow etc
And most MSX fans consider european games as simple monochrome ZX Spectrum ports for the most part...

But there are some rare gems, I enjoyed Aackosoft's "Flight Deck", an innovative aircraft carrier strategy game developed in the Netherlands. It had colour sprites and even voice samples, being very MSX-ish. It was good, but not great actually. But noteworthy anyway.

Some other suggestions? Smile

Some nice spanish ones: Tempations, Goody, The Last Mission, Ale Hop!... anyway, there are lots of great non-japanese MSX games that came out in the last 5 years or so imho ;)

Thanks, viejo_archivero!
These are quite good games indeed.
I actually liked Army Moves and other Dinamic Games as well. Smile I've learned recently that they released a remake with modern graphics

Yup that's me Smile I am certainly a Zaxxon fan, having MSX Zaxxon, Coleco Zaxxon cartridge (and brazilian "Jaxxon" released for the brazilian Coleco, the Splicevision!) and this Jet Bomber that I am not really much into, but I'm certainly a fan of another Aackosoft title called "Flight Deck".

A.M.C. is quite well known, I had that in the Commodore Amiga (together with After the War).
Akin looks good indeed!
D.A.S.S. is a novelty for me, never heard about! Looks interesting indeed.

In this "Age of YouTube", I've finally seen Amiga etc. versions of AMC.
When I see those, I must say the MSX version is still excellently done.
The game still impresses me a lot. Smile

Yes, D.A.S.S. was obviously heavily inspired by Aleste.
If you like the Compile shooters ('something' says me that you do Wink), it's worth a check out.
Maybe I'll make a nice YouTube vid of it.

The developers of Akin once had a (never finished) sequel planned which would have been called "CoreDump".

This is their site:

And here, you can download a free promo version of CoreDump:

I'm a huge fan of Starquake. And yes, of course, Elite - for me, still one of my favorite games of all time. It has it all, addictive, gourgeous (for the time being), fun & challenging.

I also have some great memories from Terramex & Gun Fright. Titanic were also great games, both of them.

Oh, and for the Brazilians out there, "Pedra da Gávea" e "Avenida Paulista" ruleiam! :-)

[I am certainly a Zaxxon fan

MSX has TWO Zaxxons. Smile

1983 and 1985 versions. Smile 1983 had better scrolling me thinks. Smile Or I liked it more anyway. Smile Don´t have them though.
