Hi,
There was this game where you control a bird. Your purpose is to reach a certain goal without touching anything on screen at all.
I remember one of the levels was a sun, and you have to make your way through the rays without touching anything (the rays had small holes in them)

Does anyone know what the name of that game was? Thank you very much in advance

Stuntvogel Big smile

I remember "hacking" that game, like adding simultaneous 2 player competitive mode.

That game was written in BASIC, wasn't it? I remember reading to through the code to learn BASIC. My simple hack to it was to use screen 5 instead of screen 2. If this game was public domain, does anyone know where to get it?

Yes, it's written in BASIC. I don't think this game is free, it's owned by [name of company I don't know that used to publish MSX Gids].

(C) 1985 MSX GIDS AMSTERDAM it says. I wonder which company inherited those copyrights. You can also try to track down the author, maybe he has also some rights left.

Adding the (c) sign to it wasn't about copyright but just a cool thing to do those days Wink

It's still cool to do nowadays Wink

In short, to non-Dutchies, the publisher claimed ownership to original user-submitted programs for a small fee. This doesn't apply to Stuntvogel. I've looked it up, that game was written by MSX Gids chief editor, Alfred.

I wouldn't mind seeing a download link to Stuntvogel, or any other open-source programs published in old MSX mags. I doubt any moderator would either Tongue

I've overlooked something. MSX Gids prior to number 6 allow non-commercial distribution(literally: 'reproduce') of its contents: "Het geheel of gedeeltelijk overnemen van de inhoud is alleen toegestaan voor: NIET-COMMERCIËLE DOELEINDEN!", so here's Stuntvogel from MSX Gids #1, with added levels from #3 Big smile (saved unpacked, so you can view the source code in a text editor)
