That's just why I need The Real Thang[tm]
I will use it to play games! Just as I do with my MSX at the moment. I don't know about doing programming, but who knows? I dont know how to plug my cassette recorder or my MSX printer though? Any ideas? A USB to parallel lead?
Will work a USB mouse on it? (Is there any *working* GUI for this default MSX2 config?)
ps/2 keyboards/mice will work, afaik. But regarding the GUI .. atm it *is* an MSX2 .. so you can run what there is to run: SymbOS. Other GUIs didn't mature enough to be called 'practical'.
... in other words, SymbOS is a 'matur(ing)' practical option! I agree. This, along with the new OCM, I would also add the awaited Dumas card to the list, are likely to redefine a little bit what MSX is going to be, better rooted in present. That's interesting enough as an 'alternative system', bringing back some diversity in computing even if limited to a small community of users.
I am no developer on MSX, never really knew what to do that others would not do better, but it may change: no idea how to develop in VHDL yet, nor how to build apps' for SymbOS, but it does make sense. That may even distract me from developing under those dear old French MC6809 based systems (MO5, TO9 etc... on their way to VHDL too) that I am considering with curiosity these days like some kind of 'MSX a la francaise'... (Those who know them may disapprove of the comparison, though ...).
And it's so easy now to travel with an MSX in one's pocket! (even in airports: the transparent casing will certainly not tell what an MSX is, but at least that it's not anything to be afraid of...). So, to conclude, what I am going to do with an OCM is presently 'I don't know what', all the more since I don't know how, but it may hopefully be something.

I don't think you can use ps/2 mice (atleast not yet)
I think the same... probably with time ps/2 keyboards and mice will work but I guess first should be an "adaptation" period, and specific drivers (or modified drivers) should be created...
about SymbOS... did any of you a URL or site where it is well explained? (I never heard about it before, I am from the old-school )
What will I do with OCM?
Bring it with two joysticks whenever I go, plug it in the nearest TV and have friends to play F1 Spirit, Konami´s Boxing, Penginkun Wars, BMX Simulator with me.
Trust me when I say people still like old games.
