Sure, but now we are testing this prototypes. When the current prototype is completed and validated we will publish on the web site CustomMSX.com Smile

I was thinking how to support an USB keyboard on the OCM.

There are not many LE free, so it would have to be tiny. Implementing the protocol in FPGA itself has a very high LE cost (if possible at all). However I was thinking, maybe the best way is to implement a super-tiny microcontroller… kind of like Arduino-in-OCM. It doesn’t need to be advanced, just minimal turing completeness (even Brainfuck-like :)). Then it could execute a small program from RAM which decodes the USB and translates it to keyboard signals.

Requires quite some knowledge about FPGA, the USB protocol and programming, and it sounds like a pretty big project, but is it possible?

@ KdL: How did you manage to display Japanese in notepad++ ?

notepad++ can display japanese for years now, 2010 or so. just set encoding to Shift-JIS ("Encoding" menu)

Thanks for the info, but I also found another way. You can choose encoding in UTF-8. It will also display Japanese properly.

Hi:

I've tested last KDL firmware for Zemmix Neo, and well, since 2.3 for 1chipMSX, some video cards like Playsoniq don't work. That's why I have Zemmix updated and 1chipMSX still on 2.3. On 2.3 GFX9000 worked very well but I don't know if it works with last version. Hope this problem with video cards will be fixed.

Regards,

Salva

Hi Guys / Hola a todos! , my name is Juan and I have met the MSX platform testing the One Chip MSX core that has been ported to the Turbo Chameleon 64 FPGA system by @robinsonb5.

The MSX platform is very nice!

We have realize that the core has this problem, does this happen also on the One Chip MSX original board?

If i try disk access from BASIC I get a 'disk offline' error. As an
example I tested this as a program or as direct input:

open "a:test.txt" for output as #1
print #1,"Juhuuu"
close #1 (or just close)

It seems the two first commands are accepted. But the close command
results in 'disk offline' error.

The same thing happens if I just try to save a basic program.

Similarly if I try to copy a file while at the command prompt in DOS,
I get the error 'Not ready writing drive A:'

I understand that the core is a work in progress and it certainly has
made a lot of progress already :-) But am I just trying something that
is not supported currently, or do I need to initialize the drive in
some way to ba able to write back to it. The SD is not write protected.

If you want to learn more about the Turbo Chameleon 64 and the OCM core version (based on Caro’s DE1 core) for it here there are some links:
