ok, i'm going after these! i'll have to study vhdl as i began by downloading caro's version and i've only read the code, but haven't really studied it..
i'll focus on this bug first. and try to really understand what is going on...
i'd like to know: it seams to me that caro and HRA began coding on the same code basis, but are they different branches?

The VDP used by caro is the HRA model + PAL mode on the VGA!
VDP of HRA is a incomplete V9958 based on the original VDP of ESE but it has introduced various bug that the original V9938 has not.

OCM-PLD 3.2 use a mix of all these VDP. The improvements and fixes were introduced by me comparing file by file gradually over time.

As you’re working on improving the upscaler for the next release, a feature request:

A toggle to select 16:9 letterbox mode for those of us who have a 16:9 display. Probably some people would like a 16:10 mode too Smile. I don’t know if you have any free DIP switches for it, but even just a keyboard toggle would be good to have.

The resolution will be a perfect 640x480 like on a pc and the better view will be with a 16:10 at full screen mode. None new keyboard toggle in my todo list and no dip available.

@Kdl: do you think it's possible to emulate (on the ocm) the exact vram timings of the original vdp, as in this doc?

it's only for v9938 but i think the v9958 it's very similar

Well if it’s the right aspect ratio at 16:10 that would be good, too. 16:9 is a lot closer to 16:10 than it is to 4:3, and also 16:10 monitors are common so no problem to acquire one if needed.

Grauw, the 1st and 2nd setup are possible for sure but the 3rd is not confirmed.

(OCM-PLD v3.3) VGA 640x480 on Wide 16:10 --> image resolution 256x224

(OCM-PLD v3.3) VGA 640x480 on Wide 16:9 w/ cropped image --> image resolution 256x216

ps. I suggest a resolution of 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 for a clear image.
