From my private contacts with Brasil and Spain MSX users i see a not so positive view of the dutch MSX community lately and a tendency to 'ignore' the dutch. We often speak about and acknowledge a cultural difference between the rest of the world and Japan. Note that there is also a difference between the way we tend to approach each other in the Netherlands (and we are a not so polite country, i personally hate that) and in the South of Europe and South America. Some messages here (and moderating has helped lately!) are considered personal insults in other countries and do not start a discussion but end it.

I totally disagree with MSXHANS.
Sunrise has a new dealer in Brazil now. They screaming to have our products .
The major problem is for them simply how to pay.
As regards the spanish , also not true.
The spanish people ordered already again this year for 221 euro. Asked us to set aside some ide's in case we came to madrid.
The situation in spain is become worse since there comes no hnostar magazine.
Away is the publicity as regards sunrise and padial products.
They also killing eachother by making products that are competitive and not doing something new.
And the contacts with Hnostar are very very good, despite the not coming magazine.
So, I refuse to believe that brazilian ,spanish and dutch people disagree about the MSX-SCENE.

What are you totally disagreeing about? I talk about what i hear and read from Spain and Brasil about how they experience the international contacts, you talk about good selling!

Commercal success of Sunrise: good to hear. Now you have the chance to develop new products (network card! Compass 2! you promised it! we want it!)

The MSX SCENE is a lot more than SUNRISE selling lots of MSX items! It is also about mutual respect, cooperation in software and hardware development, information exchange, working together and having some fun with our hobby.

First of all we are a foundation. Sunrise is my hobby. If I had no fun about it I stopped immediately. Personal contacts from me to Hnostar, Ikeda , and tusjikawa have let to cooperation. What would I have done to fat16 if miss okei had not developed it.
Tusjikawa had the basic idea of the CF. Rafael Corrales also a personal friend.
What I really want to say is that i have different signals in the private way
Sellings and earnings are based on mutual trust and therefore you need a friendly relation as person and as foundation. If I didnot have that feeling.
Example of an email I got from spain. I have broken my leg. Can you give the ide to rafael.

Be a little bit patience as regards the Networkcard. Compass 2 I never promised sorry

Heh, no, nag Jon from CTNG about that ^_^.
I sent him a large number of emails just recently (actually it was just one huge email but it kinda got fragmented into smaller ones ;p), but he didn't reply yet, which I can imagine because if I got that much mail about a project I'm currently not really working on a lot... hehehe, I would postpone answering a little aswell ^_^.

Anyways, last year he said progress was good and although he wasn't really putting much time into it there might be a new fully functional beta before the end of the year. Now as we all know that beta didn't arrive yet Smile but at least now you know about how things are progressing. Ask Jon for more details on the current progress, I'd say. The more people who send him emails about Compass 2 and how they are looking forward to it, the more chance he starts putting time in it again I think.

sunrise, there are indeed a few people - like you and me - who have good contacts with a few people from Japane, Spain or Brazil. However, the vast majority of people in the MSX community (e.g. the visitors of msx.org) don't. There have been many initiatives for internationalization. MSX.org is one of them.
