I see another JoyMega that use the same chip. This is also an inverter as 74HCT04 but with one gate only. It's ridiculous to call it a joyMega2.

You're entitled to your opinion.

Given the lack of respect, this conversations ends right now. I don't have to bear this kind of behaviour. Have a nice day!

It's really getting harder and harder to find motivation to come back to this site.

Sorry but do you think it's respectful to sell the same product as a new one?
You would think the same of me if I sold you an MSX1 as if it were an MSX2.

I'm getting SERIOUSLY fed up with the paranoid and offensive behaviour that have been intoxicating these forums, and having to come back again and again to waste time with explanations and more explanations against aggressive questioning about anything I do.

In case you haven't noticed, joyMega (whatever revision) and all my other adapters (gunSMS, gunNES, PWM adapters, etc) are all open source designs. All the schematics are published in my site for FREE. They're all DIY!!! I don't make or sell any adapters! I don't sell any software!

For convenience, other people build and sell adapters based on those designs for those who don't have soldering skills or time. This is the case of RoadFighter, MSXCalamar, PalMal, Mana Potion, etc etc etc

I believe I at least have the right to name my projects whatever I want. Given lower power consumption, smaller footprint and better compatibility, I thought it was perfectly fine to call this a revision-2 of the JoyMega. It makes it a lot easier for people to find in a simple google search. They don't have to bother to ask for chip codes that they'll never remember by heart. Just "JoyMega2" is much simpler.

Now try to explain to me from what reasoning you could arrive to the conclusion that something "unscrupulous car sales man" is going on. I don't know if it's socially acceptable to make baseless insinuations and offend someone's dignity where you live, but at least at this side of the globe IT ISN'T!

I just didn't have the time to update the English JoyMega article with the new design. As you know, I have RealLife (TM) problems and I AM NOT BEING PAID FOR THIS SH*T! Much on the contrary. Asshole behaviour comes out of nowhere to troll on every release of every project I publish in English.

In case it's not clear, I'll repeat: I AM NOT MAKING ANY F* MONEY WITH MSX, NEITHER ANYTHING OF THIS WILL EVER GIVE ANY POLITICAL ADVANTAGE IN REAL LIFE!

Enough of this crap. This situation is ridiculous.

Your attitude is excessive! You get mad for nothing.

An MSX2 has additional functions compared to an MSX1. The "Joymega 2" is identical to the Joymega. It is not an opignon, it is a fact.

PS: I'm still waiting for explanations of your calculations.

Yes but that doesn't give you the right to sencure the comments of others about it on the wiki. It’s dishonest too.

FRS, can you explain why you remove from the gallery in the Wiki page the picture that comes from the link you've yourself mentioned?

guys, like this it's not going the way any of you would want. This place is not for stuff like this. You're both valued scene members who disagree. Let's leave it like that and not escalate. I'd hate to see any of you guys leave.

Simple: I clicked on the Undo because I believe this kind of a personal opinion combined with incorrect info has no place in a wiki. Am I wrong?

"Note: A JoyMega is sold in brazil. It is called 'JoyMega 2' but that is a ordinary JoyMega made with a single gate inverter instead of a chip that contains four gates because only one is used to make a JoyMega."

Explain why it's wrong instead of getting upset! You give no explanation or link. For me, a few miliwatts of difference does not change anything for users.

I really believe you are honest but by getting angry it makes us to think that it is not the case.

@gdx

Man, this kind of discussion won't get us anywhere and I'm exhausted. You already told you believe that there's some kind of unscrupulous scheme in course. I already told you that I feel immensely offended by that kind of baseless/unnecessary demoralisation. I've a hard time to believe you wouldn't feel offended under such circumstances.

I already explained that I make no money or take no advantage of such devices, and that all my hardware designs and software/patches are published for free.

About the article, the 74xx04 chips are called "hex inverters" for a reason. No, they don't have 4 inverter ports. Also, Joymega2 is just a hw revision over Joymega(1). And I used the Mana Potion version just as the first example that came to my mind, so being "sold in Brazil" (or anyplace for that matter) is irrelevant. He had lost his job and asked to build/sell JoyMega2s to try help to pay for his daughter expenses. I not only agreed, but contacted Belavenuto so we could design the PCB for him as a means to help. His new product was very well received, and he sold it like hot cakes. I was happy I could to lessen his bank debts. Besides him, other people from other countries also asked to build the design, and I heartfully agreed. Why shouldn't I?

Not only JoyMega2, but I also helped him with other designs, like a RGB sync separator that works fine with nearly all MSX computers & console devices without the need of an external power supply.

I already explained that I believe that I have the right to choose whatever name I want for my projects. It a hobby, so it supposedly should be fun. I already explained that I naively believed that adding the revision to the name would help people to find it easier than having to memorise chip codes, and never thought it could be a matter of such heated questioning.

I really don't understand where you're trying to go. Do you just want to prove your point and dictate a name change for a project of mine? Will I have to ask you for authorisations on the scope and naming of every MSX project I do?

Please explain what do you think I have done wrong, and what is that you want to achieve, because seriously, I just can't grasp it.

And not only you explicitly called me unscrupulous, but also later accused me of overreacting and getting too upset. It's an endless loop of stinging and complaining that the other didn't like to be strung. This is just madness.
