Hey ! I use a clone and this works very well. I'm not a hardware guru but i can solder a connector so it was very easy to make this. The only trouble i had with the clone is that the Arduino (newer versions of the Arduino software) wil detect that it is a clonechip..if that is the case the Arduino software is not working. (when you upload the config)

I used this link from the internet and that worked very wel for the clonel:

Set your clone correct

So i my case this mouse solution works very well on the clone!.. And other good thing is ... I user a optical USB mouse with scroll wheel.. and that works very nice! .. i don't want to use a original MSX mouse anymore ;) As this works very smooth.

I've had one which went broken. I found it not really handy in GraphSaurus as it turned out it was quite hard to get the pointer exactly on the pixel I wanted. It was a tad wild.
How is that lately? I'd like the idea to use the scrollwheel on my MSX... Install symbos on a cf card even (never tried it)...
Real MSX mice are mostly way too over priced (seen them go for 70 euros, which in my opinion is the price I would give for three pieces)... If you're not to expensive o.geerdink, I'd like to buy one of yours anyhow... Since it's genuine Smile

My early version had a bug that caused mouse pointer not to respond on small movements when movement accuracy was adjusted to low. I think now it reacts pretty much like genuine mouse and there is no delay & jumping like with those RS-232 mouse adapters.

It reacts way much better than a normal msx mouse.. Since I have this USB optical I don't want to go back :-)

Hello again. On the Enterprise scene we have good news.

Thanks to the information contained here from NYYRIKKI and based on the Extended mouse protocol from him and Prodatron, Pear, a Polish developer, has finished his project Entermice and now we are beta-testing it.

Inside it, the strange Enterprise ports and its more strange signals, have been standardized, the Joystick ports now are Atari-Kempston type with three fire buttons and, over all, there is a wonderful PS/2 port to connect a wheel mouse with five buttons.

It would be nice that an Entermice version of SymbOS could be released.......

Looks easy to do. Nowadays even for ~ 5 euro!
Reading this thread I am only a bit in doubt about the +5 V connection for the PS/2 connecter. So I made this drawing:

Is the +5V correctly connected if I want to use it standalone after programming the Arduino?

I would like to have the same thing for HID mice.
