Upgrade current sharksym's MMC/SD drive to MMC/SD drive Multirom II Expansion
It can be added up to 15 AM29F040 flash rom and need 2 SN74LS138 and 1 SN74LS175
Sharksym already posting how to make MMC/SD drive Multirom II in his blog
It needs bios 4.10 to get in Multirom2 Expansion menu and mflash.com to controlling Multirom II flashroms

http://youtu.be/hqAyCFuNDtI

How bios 4.10 working on multirom 2 function
Choose 5 colors on monitor
Mflash initialize flashroms, check game lists and download games from MMC/SD drive
Much slower download speed if you don't have the Turbo-R

Sharksym implements asesome work for MSX user

I just look up your diagram and I think you almost get the right information about the Multirom II Expansion
I just find out your question mark and I will explain to you

you can use a resistor of 470 ohm or similar value for LED but I did not put it on
Also pin # 1 ~ 5 of the second SN74LS138 is same as the first one so you can just hook them up
Pin# 5 is GND so you can connect to the pin# 8

I don't know you can see my blog or not
There are some pictures for Multirom 2 Expansion
Just check it out

Still you need a bios 4.10 and mFlash.com.......

However, you don't need the second one if you use less than 8 AM29F040

Hello, a lot of thanks for the fresh info overrich, i´ll modify my diagram, i can see perfectly your blog, I had not seen before, i think i saw your video install, i´ll take a look carefully to your blog. I have a bios question, i´m wondering if bios 4.10 need to be changed before or after the M. II Expansion mod.
I´ll try mod when i get all the parts, and i´m wondering, like and idea, if will be possible (easy) mod the original circuit to add 15 more Flash IC , yes, i mean a total of 30 Flash IC´s, i think maximun are 15 Flash devices working together, but maybe another 15 could be attached using more logic or any kind of logic switch, or physical switch to select "First 15 Flash" or "Second 15 Flash" when cart is not conected. This may be crazy!, i know, because would occupy a lot of more space, but maybe a good way-idea to have ever some games available (maintaining it orderly) and using the other 15 Flash block to flash-change more often games.
Regards and thanks a lot for help, i´ll upload again the new diagram when finished, maybe could help another people interested on it.

You can change the bios 4.10 either before or after mod
Bios 4.10 just same as Multirom 1 function (just push the space bar while you booting) otherweise it goes to DOS1 or DOS2

30 flashrom sounds good for me if the case allows enough space (must be 31 flashroms because 1 for 20C040 + 31 for 29F040)
sharksym never mention about installing more than 15 flashroms
31 flashroms may possible if more logic added to the Multirom II Expansion with switch
But sharksym may consider programming to control 31 flashroms instead of using switch

Good Luck!!!!

I just look at the spec for the MMC/SD and I am just realized it is impossible either using switch or programming
15 flashroms are maximum capacity of MMC/SD

Mmm, then the only option to add another 15 Extra Flashroms will be repeat the same circuit again (2x74LS138, 74LS175 + 15 Flash) right? and if MMC/SD can handle only 15 at one time, i´m wondering where (what signal to switch) i could place a normal switch to select between 15 Flash Block and the new 15 Flash another Block, if you know where could i place a switch will be great to know. About case i have here a Sunrise Box (same like Moonsound), i checked size of 30 Flash and seems could fit ok, also more extra space is available in this box for extra logic´s.
Thanks for reply.
Regards.

I wonder if it's possible to use two blocks of flash memories with one bios.
I guess the info. of roms loaded in the flashroms may be stored in the bios of MMC/SD (29C040). This means that only one block of 15 flashroms can be controlled. It may be possible to handle two blocks if you use two bios flashroms(29C040). One bios for one block, respectively.
