Why is that all so interesting?

I think people are itching to order it but for some reason need a bit of validation. Since you're, well, you, your opinion would carry a great weight. I get that feeling, too. I wish someone could convince me otherwise, but the MSXVR just doesn't make sense to me right now.

I only needed the validation of my wife Big smile

I loved the customization options, another reason because this project is so special. I really hope that the HP20P cursors become a reality Smile

About keyboard customization, I was looking for something similar to Toshiba HX-10 style, and I ended up with the following:

keybd_esc_color=8 - Red
keybd_f1f4_color=1 - Black
keybd_f5f8_color=1 - Black
keybd_f9f12_color=1 - Black
keybd_alphanum_color=4 - Gray
keybd_modifiers_color=14 - Woodland
keybd_cursors_color=17 - Navy
keybd_space_color=1 - Black

I think there is much demand for the MSX style cursors!

At first I also customized the keyboard, but later I changed my mind because I know my choices of colour combinations traditionally suck. So I reverted back to the original gray/black colour scheme LOL!
8280 cursor keys for me, as I think the sony ones are nice but difficult to handle as they form a rectangle in stead of a square. I'm afraid that multiple cursor keys get pressed at the same time when you don't want that.

BTW, what are modifier keys?
And "by defect" should be "by default", hopefully?

I will probably choose a custom colour scheme. To my taste the default grey/black one uses a very light grey (almost white). You can see the difference taking a look at this picture (the MSXVR on the left is probably using the colour 3 - Graphite while the other two machines on the right are using the default 4 - Gray).

The shape of the Sony HB-20P style cursors is fine. What worries me are the stress tests that those new cursor keys should pass. I am pretty sure that the Philips NMS-8280 look-alike standard cursors keys have been tested and do fit perfectly on the Cherry MX switches (precisely because they are standard keys).

Anyway I am going to choose the Sony HB-20P look-alike cursors! Big cursor keys are present in most MSX computer models.

If your real MSX is/was a Philips MSX2 NMS-825x/8280 or you are not going to play games using the cursors, the "NMS-8280" standard cursors is a smart choice.

Each and every single key except the escape, function, alphanumeric, space bar and cursor keys. That is Tab, Caps lock, Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Code, Graph, Enter, Backspace,...

Several Japanese users pointed out the "Japanese" keyboard shown at the customization site lacks the important _ key between ? and right SHIFT, which is relocated to between the left SHIFT and Z. I suggest moving all the keys Z through ? to one place left then assign the existing ? key to _.
However another problem; there must be a delimiter/yen/kana hyphen key between ^ and backspace. This must be added physically but it'll be next to impossible so I suggest F10 as the best compromised option.

I think keys are removable and only the switch remain soldered at the board?

If this is the case (i really don't know) should be pretty easy to change keyboard layouts,.only change the plastic from the keys for the layout you like and load a different driver?

Or maybe they are not removable... oO Tongue
