Hi all,
is there a way to replace the turbo-r floppy with a pc drive without soldering on the mb?
Otherwise is there an adpater for the flat cable connector or a way to build it?

Thank you very much.

You could use a Superdisk LS-120 drive which is capable to read 720kB, 1.44MB en 120MB floppies. I have one NEW for sale with 15 sealed 120MB floppies. You need an IDE interface in order to get it work. Look here: http://www.msx.org/forumtopic11585.html

What is wrong with your turbo-r disk ? Because most of the time just the belt is missing .. If so .. you can ask repair-bas for one.

Nothing wrong, it works perfectly Smile

I want to connet this: http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/

It works really well on my other machines so i would like to connect it to the turbo-r.

Maybe you want to buy a Nowind instead?

I was evaluating to buy a nowind, but i'm still waiting a reply to my mails to sunrise.
Meanwhile i've found the hxc emulatore that works with an sd card, and works also on amiga and atari st.

I'm also searching for this cable. Does anyone know where to buy it? mau_rizio, did you get it to work?

BTW, I found this www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/mirrors/hanso/hwdoityourself/turbordrive.pdf, though my hardware skills are poor.

Greetings,
Marce

Well, I tried that a few months back and it failed...drive did work (NEC) but never got the ready signal again after first operation.
I found a spare drive for €75... I also own a CF card and that almost replaces all use for a floppydrive.

you can replace the original fdd with a 3 (1/2) pc card reader.
Using a sd/mmc cartridge wiring to msx slot.
You can use internal slot 0-1 (instead of slotselect signal 1 or 2)
