I also suspect the (old) welds that probably did not appreciate the vibrations during the transport.

I think it is some weirdness of Panasonic computers BIOS because it works this way with my A1WX too, so i suppose it is nothing to worry about.

I think that’s because the FPGA needs some time to initialise (a couple of tens of ms?), and the memory counting occurs before the FPGA is initialised. But the initialisation completes before the boot screen finishes and DOS2 bootstraps, so there should be no issues other than a wrong memory count sometimes being displayed on the boot screen.

Interestingly enough that Wavy 70FD and YIS503IIIR doesn't have this issue. And also that it show 512K on boot on Panasonic but nevertheless all the memory is still recognized by Nextor so it uses whole 1024K

I have been using a 110v stepdown converter, but that worked fine for almost 3 weeks, why would it change? Then again I can't rule it out but have nothing else a.t.m.

I have ordered a 100v stepdown from eBay from Japan but it is taking forever to arrive... I could not find any 100v step downs from a NL/EU retailer.

You'd better change the internal transformer. That ain't a surgeon's job.
Before mine got its internal transformer replaced I burnt two 110V/45W stepdown converters. They really stink. They're not made for Japanese equipment so please don't use them.
Be sure to have ordered a Japanese step down converter which is strong enough. There are those strong enough to charge a mobile phone and there are those strong enough to handle a game PC.
Somewhere in the middle would be fine
