Ok, I got the basic ( .bas) file, how do I load into my MSX?
I don't think I would like to type all of it
If I copy it to my SDC card how can I load it?
Thanks

Ok
I found the answe: just run "basic carttest.bas"
Currently stuck on " Test slot:"

Will leave it running for a while - hope it has not crashed

My only question is:
Does it matter what we card you have inserted?
Currently I have an msx-dos recognized card, and suspect it doesn't try hector because it automatically loads it
I tried to follow the process for carnivore, but simply cannot run "call fdisk". It gives a " illegal call" message
Thanks

So far all CF cards I tried with my IDE-FDD controller worked just fine. But there could be a few that won't work with the device (taking account our experience with Carnivore2). But I think the problem is in the Nextor BIOS that doesn't want start for some reason. You may need to select the Nextor BIOS with a jumper (if the jumper is set and you see Sunrise messages, then remove the jumper to enable Nextor) and to dump the entire 64kb of slot's address space with the SAVEROM utility. Use the slot number where the FDD-IDE is located and dump from 0000 to FFFF into a file. This will help to see in what condition is the Nextor BIOS and whether it's actually there.

You need to input the slot number and the page number for the program to proceed.

Guys

Just found the problem: I was using the WRONG ROM size all the time!!
When I made the EPROMS order from Ebay, somehow the chip changed and I received an AM29F010B , which is 1 Mbit, instead of the AM29F002BT-70JC ( 2Mbits)
Now all makes sense!
The odd thing is that the programmer did not give me any errors when I programmed the ROM - maybe is not the size, but the pinout?
Just odered a couple of them and will see in 1-2 weeks

Thanks for your suggestions so far

Bummer, I should have noticed 001 on the EEPROM in one of your pictures. Your programmer's software should have identified the 002 chip by its ID - such software usually refuses to program chips with wrong IDs. So, it should not have programmed your 001 if you selected 002 in the settings.

Alexei
The problem is that I looked at the chip and typed the code written on it, not what the the build document said!
However, the file is 256 Kbyes , how did the programmer managed to burn the ROM when it only has 128 Kbytes capacity ?
And did not give any errors or warnings!!
I did check the pinout, and the only difference ( as expected) was the 2 Mbit ROM had an extra ( A17) pin
Anyways, now waiting for the chip...

Thanks again

Glad you could find the malfunction and fix it.
