Actually we have a lot of alternatives to have a "all in one" cartridge working for our MSXs. Fortunatelly every option has its own possibilities so they are not exactly the same.

Anyway I'd like to ask, Is there any vs between all of them with pros and cons? Thanks.

MFR I guess is the most used and might as well be the benchmark in this comparison.
Compared to Carnivore 2 it lacks MSX-Music. That's also as far as I can compare them since I do not have a Carnivore 2.
Comparing the MFR to Gr8Net is easier. I have both of them. There's a world of differences between them. Gr8Net having almost every music chip ever created and having a stereo output is very handy. It being a networking device is handy as well. However its extensiveness, amount of modes and overall complexity is the flipside of the coin. Because of its steep learning curve to get to know the device I'm not using it (a lot). I never even managed to get it to just boot to DOS/Nextor, only a built in simple filebrowser.
As long as FlashJacks is only for a few lucky people, I think it's not really a thing to compare it to. If it ever gets mass produced, it gets a second chance. Not for now.

This is the point, I also have MFR and GR8Net and for daily use I usually select MFR because it's quite simple and friendly to use. GR8Net has tons of capabilities, but it's quite complex. For me one important diference is the OS used. For daily use with Nextor, MFR is a very good choice. If you plan to use SymbOS, GR8Net is clearly best option.

@Meits, did you try to use GR8cfg, so you can set the GR9NET to the DOS/Nextor mode permanently ?

GR8NET is having "FlashRAM" Smile and SD-card/internet are "FlashROM".

It is offtopic for this thread, but anyway: if you watn to achieve something using your device (any of these listed), and if you do not know how to do it, you (1) search manual for it, (2) ask people and developer, and (3) when successful write small page about your task and how you achieved it. Maybe a good idea to make a searchable repostory of such docs.

Sure, I think that it works fine. After some weeks of usage you get a small user guide with main commands that you need. My next goal is to have this small manual for GR8Net since original it's very extensive, about 235 pages Smile

Carnivore2 can use 720kb of its shadowed RAM to load various ROMs with or without creating a directory entry. It's similar to MegaRAM, but we have our own tool for it.

Carnivore2 can also emulate FMPAC's 8kb SRAM and if a battery is installed on the cartridge, the contents of SRAM as well as the ROMs loaded into the shadowed RAM will be preserved after power off.
