Hello Guys,

I have a problem!! =_=

I would like manage the TOKEN MACHINE on my cabinet coin-op for MSX

look at my cabinet from my site:
http://www.gamecastsoft.it/coinop.htm
I ask to you if it is possible manage the my TOKEN MACINE
using a signal with the INPUT RELAY port of TAPE.

example: using the function basic as IN and OUT from MSX-BASIC.

Other example:

when I put a coin on TOKEN MACHINE, then sends an input signal to the MSX computer
to give me a CREDIT for play. It must do everything via the MSX BASIC.

I will be very happy if it worked.

See you to soon....
Happy MSX ^_^
AG.

You could connect the "coin reader" into the second joy port, so you would be able to read the STRIG(x) to check if a coin was inserted.
But really, without *any* hardware specs, how can anyone even attempt to help you?

And I don't think the MSX printer port has a "read" option.

For something in the same area (using the printer port to access external hardware) you can read this: http://www.msx.org/forumtopic5968.html

Maybe use a relay/switch on your Joystick port to enable/disable the joystick.. how do you want to connect your joystick anyway.. is it MSX compatilble?

you can do it with closing a contact on any port and read it with IN command. You can do either with similar mame shift combination as up+fire button 1 or similar way to do it easier
Other way is a keyboard hack to connect the jamma to the keyboard for games that uses keys as 1-2-3-4 etc

i am designing a dedicated cabinet for msx and the better way to do the trick is the keyboard hack.

the voltage of the jamma MUST be separated to dont overload the msx on anyway
