Does any MSX fans have any ideas and/or connections with companies that can produce a batch of Konami/Sony compatible cartridge cases?

I really like my NES cartridges from RetroUSB, and I'd love to have the same for my MSX Padial devices.

I'd pay 5$ per and buy 20-30 units easily. I may even order and pay for a bigger batch from a plastic molding company, and then use some for myself and sell the rest to other interested people.

SunRise have very nice (for 1990-s) cases with their devices, but those are too big/dull/proprietary for today's clear color plastic products.

Please let me know what you think about this topic.

Patola here in Brazil still makes them. Don't know if they sell outside Brazil, or what's the minimum quantity, but you can try with them...

I also contacted Paulo Maluf (a very trustable MSX saler here in Brazil) about this topic, he has some with them also - so he might sell you some.

Thank you, SLotman, this is interesting! The photo on Patola site looks nice. Did you ever seen their cases? Do they use screws, or are they like Konami cases with one use latches?

In any case, please send me Paulo's contact information to aoboroc (at) gmail (dot) com

Any links to photos? Are those carts Konami/Sony compatible and use screws, not latches? Are they sold as is, without the silly homebrew trying to capitalize on fans love for Konami's classic game?

I don't know if they're fully compatible. Check any Koei cart and you see what you got. It has screws, IIRC.

Anyway, for information, contact sunrise. I don't even know where/how they got them exactly, but maybe they can help you further.

These boxes (Manbow2) are ASCII compatible. They are not compatible with Konami PCBs.

hey, if anyone wants to pay tooling-costs, and buy a production run of 24 hours, I'll put a mould in order. Big smile
But if anyone has a tool/ mould already, it might be a lot cheaper/ faster.

please define what yoy call konami/sony compatible. Just the outside dimensions or also the way to open/close the carts and the positions to fix the PCB?

-konami uses 1x snap-fit, break to open
-philips (logo) uses press-fit tubes, they can be opened without breaking
-irem uses screws

the new manbow2 cart looks a lot like an irem cart, but without the screws.

Does anyone know who produces the cartridge boxes for sunrise?
Does anyone know who owns the moulds?
