Any trough's?
Does anyone know a easy way to do this ?
Afaik I don't think it's possible. Are you trying to install a MSX-MUSIC chip in order to hear FM sound in japanese MarkIII games?
I am more interested in second generation of games that included the FM sound track. Japanese cartridges should have a tendency for different sizes ...
If it is possible to recycle old pads and controllers, why not music chips?
I don't know an easy way, but there is a way. The schematics are somewhere in SMSPower.
There should be a simple way: crossing address lines to match MSX port and SMS port. Connect data lines directly, power, gnd, I/O to GND...
msx music chip or the 2413 ? I was under the impression they aren't the same thing, in that the msx music chip contains the 2413 and can access a sample ram?
boblet, no, you're totally confused here. There exists an FM-PAC cart which has an YM2413 and an FM-basic ROM (together MSX-MUSIC), and an additional SRAM in which you can save games.
Ah, I have confused MSX-MUSIC(YM2413) with MSX-AUDIO(YM8950)
