I recently came across an MSX2 Philips VG8235, my board matches the service manual, but I've seen different boards too, like here http://www.wumpus2000.de/Homecomputer%20neu/Computers/Philip... (missing the little sub pcb) and this http://bilgisayarlarim.com/Philips/VG-8235/VG-8235_01.jpg (using a gate array)... How many different boards have been made for this model ?

3 versions......

the /00 is a bigger board lot like the 8230.
then there is the /19 version. it got a error on the board and there is was a repair action. then there is most of the time a sticker over the /19 for /20

and then there is the /20 realy close to the nms8245 the mobo

Thanks for pointing me at this, I did read it and could not find anything about the two models, but effectively the difference is just evident by looking at the two different downloadable service manuals Smile

I have a /19 the error you refer to is the "inaccessible second bank memory mapper", or something else ? I've run testram on it and it says ok....
