Hi,

After lurking around for a while in this forum i finally decided to register. I had some MSX gear laying around here which wasn't being used for quite a while. Last week i decided to spend some time with my good old msx.

When i connected my music module and booted my 8250 the internal ROM program started but i could not hear any sound. Same thing happened with my F700P

When i opened the cartridge i checked the inside for any broken parts but i could not discover anything.

Is there anybody outthere who knows how i can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Grtz,

Daffy

Haven't tried it yet. I will look into it when i get home. My Korean FM-Pac works just fine though (if this is in any way relevant for this problem)

Mostly a resistor is broken.
R1 and/or R2

try to change them
The program rom works on 5 volt.

the resistors are in + en - 12 volt line and are for the sound

Just connected it to my stereo. There is also no output with the external connectors..

I just opened the cartridge.

R1 and R2 are the resistors in the lower right corner when you open it up and have the slot connector facing towards you?

Long time ago I found a resistor of my MM burnt. I don't remember exactly which one but I think it was one of Repair-Bas commented.

Happened to me as well... Luckily I had a second MM lying around to check the colors of the resistor, so I had it replaced in a jiffy.

The smell of it oO
