I have updated MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD software.
OPFXSD v1.09: Added some wait states when reading SD cards. This will fix the SD access problem with Panasonic FS-A1(F) computers.
RECOVERY.ROM: Added the same wait states.
DSKROM: Added "W" key to ignore write errors. I.e.: Seed of Dragon needs it to boot.

Hi Gu1llian,

I'm sorry if this has been asked before and solved, but I've run into some problems when trying to run multiple disks. I'm testing the MFRSCC+SD device on a Turbo R and I am trying to run Xak 1.

I load them as follows:

opfxsd xak1demo.dsk /d1
opfxsd xak1gam1.dsk /d2
opfxsd xak1gam2.dsk /d3

The demo disk loads fine, but when it asks for me to switch disks to insert Game Disk 1, hitting/holding down "2" on either my top number keys or keypad while pressing space bar or pressing them at the same time does not seem to be working and it keeps asking that I insert the Game Disk. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks very much for your help! : )

Please, reinstall DSKROM and test it again. It should work fine using the top number keys.

Sweet! Worked like a charm after reinstalling and updating to the newer versions, AND as a bonus it now corrects the issues I was having where my Turbo R GT did not launch the MFRSCC+SD on Power On. I used to have to power the MSX on, then hit a Soft Reset for it to register, but now it finds it right away.

I did have some issues when starting a new game in Xak and selecting Game Disk 1 from the Demo Disk after watching the Demo. It seemed to try and load after hitting "2" "Space" (where the GD1 disk was defined as) and simply went to a black screen, but if I launch the game via the other disks and try to just load an empty user disk it starts me off in the first town right in front of Latok's house and switching disks using the top numbers work fine after that. : )

Then when I want to save my game, I simply put in an empty userdisk (or one with previous Xak 1 data on it) in my actual disk drive and hit "0" to write/load from that. Didn't seem to show saved slot file names though, which was a little strange but I can live with that. : )

Thanks for your help!

Btw, I remember when this project began, you had mentioned that perhaps in a future version of Nextor, we might actually have a way of writing to .dsk files too? Is that still looking like it will be a possibility? That would be great if there would be a way to eliminate the need of having a separate disk drive altogether. : )

Yes, Konamiman will add native DSK support in Nextor as soon as he has some spare time.

Native support of DSK in Nextor is something worth waiting for, but I'd like to see the perfection of DSKROM continued as well... Well, as far as possible. The hardware exists, the software exists and it's just nice Smile

About Updating the software..
I updated diskrom and romdisk using OPFXSD dskrom.rom /i1 , OPFXSD romdisk.dsk /id .
But How can I update OPFXSD 1.0 to new version OPFXSD 1.09 ? Do I have to use recovery mode and install new kernel ?
...

To update OPFXSD you only need to overwrite/replace OPFXSD.COM in the SD card.
Also, it is included in the ROMDISK, so after updating it you should have the latest version of OPFXSD in A: drive.
If you need to update the SD kernel, then it is better to do it from recovery mode. Just copy RECOVERY.DAT to an empty SD card and press F4 in recovery menu.

Hm, when flashing a ROM which supports SCC music I do hear the music. But when I just insert the cartridge and boot some software from floppy diskdrive which also should support SCC sound, I don't hear any SCC. I thought the device was an SCC cartridge out of the box? But it isn't? I'm a bit confused....

Does the software you are testing search for the SCC correctly?
