If I do not remove the cartridge and press ESC, everything works fine. I had a Sunrise CF connected when uploading the disk, but that was removed before I started playing. I'll try to do some more testing this evening.

Ok, I seem to have found the problem. When flashing everying is fine. But when I boot my MSX with a disk flashed and a Sunrise CF inserted (with 3 partitions/drives) I get an "syntax error in 0" followed by an endless set of lines with "illegal function call in 0".

Now, when I remove the CF, it works. But if I remove the SD cartridge from the slot and leave the Sunrise CF inserted I get the "Not a DOS disk reading drive C:, Abort or Retry (A/R)? message from DOS 2. Removing the CF solves it but the problem keeps persisting when the CF is reinserted. I only can get the CF to work again if I wait a few minutes.

I have moved all my files to a micro sd card so I won't be needing the CF interface, but still a weird problem.

i think thats a CF specific problem
i have had that error message too "not a DOS drive......."
and i simply had to wait a minute or so for it to "fix" itself too

I recieved my MFRSCC +SD a few days ago and everthing is working fine on my Sony HB-75B (MSX1). This forum is really helping me get the most out of this device!

I just have a quick question for you knowledeable people - is there any way I can get 'DIR' or similar to work directly from Basic? I am saving my basic programs to my b: drive on the MFRSCC +SD with no problems, but I would really like to be able to get a files list directly from basic, rather than having to 'call system' first, then switch back to basic.

Any ideas please?

Many thanks

"files" should give you all a list of all the files in the current directory. Note: basic itself does not support (sub)directories.

Yes it does... call chdir("dirname")
(and call chdrv("B:") for drive changes)

In the meanwhile, you can try MCDRV that is in the ROM disk. It can play Micro Cabin musics (.MCM files). Also, you can install it to play music in the background.
