I bought a relatively rare MSX2 computer: Al-Alamiyah Yamaha AX350II.

If anyone is interested, I can probably answer your questions about it now.

Nope, since I'm a pastafarian, it would be of no use to me Smile

I was curious about this computer, becaue it's a lot like YIS-503 IIIR (pupil computer in KYBT-2), with less ram (64К vs 128K) and built-in floppy DD drive.

Well, you could help me to verify/correct the data I have on this machine.

More concretely, I'm not sure about:
- the sha1sums of the ROMs of this machine (please dump and post the sha1sums...)
- the exact slot where the 128kB memory mapper is located

Verifying the other data is useful as well, see this file to see what we have now.

EDIT: are you saying it doesn't have a 128kB mapper, but 64kB RAM? Is it plain RAM or mapped?

EDIT2: some more questions:
- what's the diff between AX350 and AX350II?
- MSX hardware list says: "MSX2 computer, 128kB RAM, 128kB VRAM, Yamaha motherboard, 1 720kB 3,5" floppy disk drive, RS-232C interface (?), 256kB of built in programs (Informative Calendar, Painter (Yamaha), Bilingual Wordprocessor, extra Arabic functions for BASIC), comes in 2 versions, 350I and 350II" - is this correct? (E.g. the RS-232C interface!)

1) How do I dump all built-in ROMs?
2) How do I calculate sha1 sums?
3) How do I find out if memory is mapped or not, and what slot/subslots is it in?
4) How do I verify that RS-232C is present? Should I look for third male DB-9 connector in addition to two joypad connectors?
5) I don't have AX350, only AX350II, so I can't really say what's the difference.

1) Use dump tools, start with getrom.bin and maybe to saverom.com later.. see http://bifi.msxnet.org/msxnet/utils/saverom.html
2) Use the proper program, for WIndows it's probably called sha1sum.exe, can be downloaded from many sites
3) Use a program like "MSXMEM.BAS" and/or MegaReport
4) Yes, look for a connector :) I think it's DB21.
5) That's a pity.

Also, you could send me an e-mail to contact me so we can help each other out.
