What would you like to find in a sequel of The Maze of Galious.

OR: Pampas & Selene went for a trip, in the meantime Galious took over the castle, imprisoning Popo & Aphro? (So then the main goal would be to rescue your parents Smile)

As we're planning to release a PC/Switch version later, I'm afraid we can't use any Copyrighted word like "Galious".
Of course we could find another name for the PC/Switch version, but it should be great if we could use the same title everywhere.

Concerning Galious, the story you propose (Galious spirit was not fully destroyed) although sounds good, is very similar to Santi's MoG2 project. We should maybe leave Galious behind?

As the main baddy in Knightmare (Hudnos) was a "king" and in Maze of Galious was a "bischop" (Galious), maybe the main baddy in this game could be one of the other roles like a Queen or a Knight of some name... I half wonder if Konami ment for that underlying theme...

@manuel: do block puzzles demotivate you that much? Usas had only a very few where it was a puzzle. La mulana had a few where it was an actual puzzle like in the lava world but La Mulana had much harder puzzles in there...

I don't know much about Mog2 by Santi. It looks like its kinda abandoned isn't it?
Probably you shouldn't worry too much about it, but that's up to you & santi Smile

I do think it makes sense to continue on Galious, but planned PC/Switch release does complicate things of course.

As it's now the story seems a bit thin: 10 demons invaded the castle.

So it's more that this is a MoG 2 in spirit, but you won't use any of the official story (except 'Popolon and Aphrodite')?
Of course it would be nice if your game connects to the original somehow (I guess we're ignoring Shalom anyway). But maybe you aren't planning of using an in-game story anyway?

Another storyline (involving Galious) could be that he, just moments before being slain, cast a spell, cursing the castle. Everything quiet for a while, but then after 30 years...

If you think it can be done I would prefer a faithful to the original story MSX version, and make the contemporary platform version more neutral?

Or, but that would practically only work with a .rom I suppose (or some kind of loader) (implement cart switch? Wink): release a patch that implements some aspects that might be 'troublesome'.

In case an editor would be made it would also open up the possibility for MoG NES version to be ported to the MSX. I don't like that version as much, but even a mediocre MoG game is a good game any day of the week.

Perhaps ren's idea is a good one: some setting where you can set that the names to match the msx setting or a neutral one (like they used in La mulana). On the msx you have the choice and for PC/ switch it is just that other set of names etc.

Just name it 'The Maze of {name}", in which {name} is the descendant or follow-up of Galious Smile

We'll have a maze again anyway, right?

As for my old MoG2 project, by all means, I don't have any particular attachment to any of the ideas we were going to use haha. So, if there is anything that you want to have in your story, feel free to do it, even if it happens to be similar to what we were thinking. No problem at all!! haha

I'd love to continue it someday, but whenever that happens, I'll figure out how the story will be having the story of your game in mind, just to have continuity Smile

Looks like an editor alright (at least for the developer, for windows (but I figure it exports for/to MSX as well ;))

UnMetal's editor is shown several times as well, e.g. at the end around 1h42m.
