Hello. My name's Omar, and I'm a relative newbie to the MSX scene. I'm from Dubai. I want to learn more about the MSX and its technology. At the moment, I own 2 MSX computers. One is a Sakhr AX170 and the other is an AX370.

Welcome to the forum! I only came across the MSX about two years ago... I found one cheap in a second hand store! I'd never heard of one before, because they weren't popular in the UK where i was born.

You say you've got two MSX'es... how did you come across them, and what made you decide to learn more about the MSX?

Well, I got them from an online local store, to answer that question. And secondly, I saw the impact the MSX had on Arabia and decided "well, why not buy one?"

Hello Omar, welcome to the forum and I hope you will have a great time here. Smile
Do you know where to look for the info that you want to know, or would you like some hints?

The only hint I can think to give are relating to hardware upgrades

I'd recommend the MegaFlashRom SCC if you want a Cartridge/Disk Emulator,
and if you're looking to really 'upgrade' the MSX, the V9990 is an excellent graphics adapter cartridge!

I'm not to clued-in on software really, I can't even use MSX basic, because I only use the MSX for games or ASM development... which I do with Windows (VASM assembler)+OpenMSX

The AX370 is a nice MSX2! Even has the MSX2+ VDP (V9958), so it may be able to run some of the MSX2+ titles as well, though there are not many of those.
