So the 1.0 ROM has a Cr and the later ones Cz or just Pt.

Gradiente ROM's always had Cz
HotBit ROM 1.1 has Pt
HotBit ROM 1.2 has Cz

I assume that HotBit ROM 1.0 would also have had Pt, but since we don't have a dump, we cannot be sure.

I made a writeup of the differences here, but gdx keeps deleting it.
https://www.msx.org/wiki/index.php?title=MSX_Characters_and_...

Because according to him I'm mixing up control codes with fonts, even though it is mainly about the codes and only a few mentions of the fonts being slightly different for the Brazilian unique characters between the manufacturers.

Honestly I don't see his point. A font is a representation like Arial or Times New Roman, not the control codes. And most of what I wrote about is about the control codes being different between the ROM versions. But I'm done for now as I'm pretty annoyed at his deletions at this point.

Initially it was not separate but it was not suitable for people (including Manuel). That's why I separated them. Anyway, it's better for Korean and probably Arab MSXs.

Once again. My text was mainly about the difference in the mapping or control codes for the different ROM version, so it was the right place according to me. But I'm done. Do whatever you want.

i agree with the separation. Those who prefer the VRAM approach will check the Font page, those (like me) who prefer the PRINT CHR$ approach will check the other page.

Rderooy, Your texts are not lost. Wait for adequate tables to be available.

Gradiente Expert XP-800 as I showed in that screenshot has Cr.

The character set is which characters are at which numeric character code.
The font is about the shapes of the characters. Shape may vary, but the meaning must be the same
Control codes have nothing to do with either.

So, these are 3 separate things.

The real direction of shapes is as that:

And character and control codes are managed together in the same way. That's why they are together.
