A few days before the end of 2022, I thought about making a port of my InDev Tester program, from Commodore to MSX. I had wanted to make a program for MSX-DOS for years, and also something that would display graphics, so it seemed like a good opportunity to experiment. After 3 or 4 days of drawing screens on a PC to see if it was possible to adapt it, and reading about the peculiarities and limitations of the VDP modes, which I didn't know, I started doing experiments in MSXDOS, taking advantage of the compatibility with CP/M, a system for which I had previously made some simple programs.
Yesterday I finally had the first complete version of InDev Tester MSX working. Now I will have to test it on different MSX models to see if everything is ok, since I could only test it on the OpenMSX emulator. The program allows you to test the complete keyboard, including the numeric keypad that some models have, the MSX joysticks (with 2 buttons), up to 12 standard paddles (not Arkanoid ones), and analog PC joysticks (with my adapter board).
It can be downloaded from the project site: http://www.pastbytes.com/indevtester/

Wow. Back in the days I have made a small joystick tester myself. I bet I'm not the only one on this forum. I think my program showed four arrow sprites and one or two button sprites. Nowhere near as sophisticated as yours. I like this, it's looking very neat! Immediate download for me.

Thanks, I needed a program to test my adapter to use analog PC joysticks on MSX computers. The adapter emulates paddles to allow adjusting the center of the joystick.

Cool tool )
A note - some Panasonic models (MSX2+ and turboR) has additional key next to space - it is only used in the Panasonic software btw so it might be not worth adding to the program, but mentioned just so you know

I uploaded it to the download database twice but I don't know if it has to be approved.

Google Chrome refuses to download it because contains a .com file, but then i downloaded it using wget on linux, so it's the browser that blocks .com files, even inside a .zip
