If it does, I'd like to get that dumped and the cartridge emulated with the font ROM included, of course Smile

As the PHC-77 has inside a Kanji ROM level 1, I guess that MSX-WRITE 1st version does not have a Kanji part.

http://usbsecretbase.michikusa.jp/wavy77/index.html

So, it means that KANJIROM.BAS must be used !

(and that the cartridge MSX-WRITE 1 can be used only on machines with an internal or external Kanji ROM)

Well, I wouldn't draw that conclusion. For all we know, the PHC-77 has the kanji ROM built in *because* of MSX Write being built in.
And as the kanji ROM for MSX Write is just a standard implementation (e.g. it works fine with Konami EC-702) it could also be that they found it a good combination: the MSX Write software and a kanji font ROM.

Anyway, this doesn't say anything about the actual separate MSX Write cartridge, I think. So it's still very well possible that it's included. Also note that according to Tagoo, this cart is 5Megabit. This could be the 512kB program/data ROM plus 128k of font ROM... who knows? Smile

So if someone has the cart, please speak up Smile

That's possible ... it should then mean that the existing dumps of these cartridges are uncomplete. At first sight, when checking with an hexadecimal editor, the Kanji fonts are missing. Very interesting ! Smile

(Something like the bundle MSX-DOS2 + extra RAM in the 'real' MSX-DOS2 cartridge)

More interesting pages about PHC-77 :

http://blog.naver.com/zeta6262/220111683726

There's a switch on the computer to start in Word Processor mode or in MSX-BASIC mode !

http://park16.wakwak.com/~msx/msxgal/WAVY77FD.htm

Details of the roms :

MSX2 BASIC 48kB (32 + 16)
DISK BASIC 16kB
Kanji rom 128kB
Word Processor 512Kb
Kanji printing rom 256Kb
Printer control 16kb

Probably, the 2 last roms are in the printer part ...

I have 1 in my collection for now. A Sakhr AX 660. I like retro gaming and the MSX is very nostalgic for me.

I plan on adding more computers to my collection in the future but I am not your average collector. I don't collect anything. Only the very rare and unique items.

I'm looking for the Sakhr AX 330, 990, and 500 now. It could take years to find them all. But that's the fun part isn't it Smile

Got a bunch of MSX at home, but all of them must go 'cause I'm not using them anymore. In its prime, my collection was over 30 MSX machines. Now "only" 1 MSX2 and 12 MSX remain, although some of them are already ready to sale at http://www.retroclasificados.com/usuario/edu-robsy/ordenador...

I've had several VG8235's and NMS8250's, and some other models, but currently 0.

My last MSX2 was a modified 8250. Sadly it had a crappy PSG. I prefer the 8250 over the 8235 otherwise.

I had a VG8235 which broke some years ago, but I gave to a friend of mine for pieces, and a NMS8235 updated to 2+ which I sold this summer to a friend of mine.

Now I have a Sony HB75-P, MSX1, which I bought this summer for 30 euros, the 1chipMSX, and the original Zemmix Neo.

I would like to have a NMS8250 or NMS8280, but I see that Bas doesn't sell MSX now at his page, and prices around the net are impossible.

Regards,

Salva

The prices of the damn ordinary Philipses have gone bananas as well indeed... Though, Bas does sell them. You can contact him on his website.

Check the pic of what he had a few weeks ago in Nijmegen. I bet he didn't sell them all.
There's a 8280 with 7MHz there as well :)
