Hi! I'm New on this site. Anyone Can help me ti know if this version of Elite is rare or not?
I think both the disk and cassette versions are pretty rare.
I think both the disk and tape version are a so called "gold edition". I don't know if the disk version is much rarer than the disk version. Personally I only know the disk version. The tape version does have a ship that is not present in the disk version though: the fer the lance! I always sought myself silly for it in the disk version, but Loutrax found out that it wasn't present in the disk version. That was quite some time ago. I hope he has found a way to activate the Fer the lance on the disk version as well, so the disk version gets even better. @Loutrax: any news about this?
On a side note: I have trouble with saving on my original Elite disk version with a Turbo R. Over the years I have found a version which doesn't have that trouble but I now wonder if that is some updated version they released later or something else...
I have the disk version as well, also says gold, Dark Wheel book included etc. Barely cost me anything when I bought it some 15 years ago. Not sure if it’s rare, I wouldn’t think so but then again I guess I haven’t seen it on eBay much so maybe it is after all.
I loved that game btw, and when I played EVE Online many years later I saw many similarities, though unfortunately no dogfights!
I also have the Elite Gold Edition complete in box and with book (disk). I think I bought it at the Marienberg auction for a few euros.
I also got Elite Gold Edition (Data Cassette Tape version) at a Marienberg auction years ago; can't have been expensive.
Never seen a other than the "Gold" version. Maybe, because it was a Speccy box, labeled with a sticker as MSX version.
I doubt there is a higher value in Elite, 'cause it was a mass production and available far most 8bitties.

Hamlet: hope you were not planning on using that Gardena nozzle anywhere near that equipment
It's a laser, Dr. Scott. A laser capable of emitting a beam of pure anti-mater.
Well it seems that the original poster was intending to sell it on ebay. He put it up for a starting bid of 1 euro and 20 euro shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Elite-Gold-edition-per-MSX-floppy-D...
He will find his answer there.
