On dumping an MSX cassette game

Hello there. I have Ohotsuku ni Kiyu by ASCII, and it seems that it hasn't been dumped yet. I have already tried to dump it in the past, but I failed at the last part (the conversion of wav to cas). Could someone help me with this? Thank you for listening.

Your best bet is using TAPE2CAS. See http://msxcas.webcindario.com/TAPE2CAS.LZH I tried this myself and it works really well.

You could always post the wav file online on some rapidshare or mediafire service, and let others try it out for you. Also, you can try to load the wav file directly on OpenMSX to see if it works.

Sometimes, you also need to clean up a bit the wav, normalize it, etc to be able to convert it with PC tools.

I tried and failed. But TAPE2CAS was the solution Use an MSX to interpret the WAV

Yesterday with openMSX I tried to dump an existing .CAS file with TAPE2CAS.
It doesn't work, it displays "Data not reliable", etc.
Maybe is it a matter of tape speed and wrong start-block recognition?
It would be useful to put on openMSX the "REM" feature...

Another question:
I have many rare tapes not dumped, yet. So I decided to read them only 1 time in WAV, to avoid too many tape readings.
Can you confirm this "optimal" configuration?:

- Software: Audacity for Windows;
- Parameters: WAVE 44KHz ...
- Volume: 3/4 of the max peak (as seen on Audacity)...

openMSX has the REM feature. But it's a much better idea to use TAPE2CAS on your real MSX machine! That's what I meant and what I did. Use the real MSX to interpret the "WAV"! It works awesomely.

Recorded Game Cassette 1. Used Audacity as well. 44100 Hz, stereo, half volume. Here is the link. Just tell me if something's wrong with the settings.

Only one channel of your stereo sample contains the cassette data... Also, how does one load this game?

But again, just use TAPE2CAS on your real MSX.

Problem is, I only have an MSX1, a cassette recorder. and no disk drive. So I can't use TAPSE2CAS.
