The main memory mapper is usually the largest (only the Turbo-R sticks to its own), so most likely the MFR is used. Did you try it already with the different timer option (so using VDP timing with option /T2)?

Tried the different timing option, no change.

What set-up do you guys use, that works?

Of note, when I start MB Wave it works with the SW2 and shows I have 464K available memory on start-up, when I run it from the MFR. So in theory, from the DOS prompt I should have access to the 512K when I start Robosid. This is really odd.

In openMSX I've tried robosid 1.7b on several Panasonic, Sony and Philips machines. All the tested Philips machines crashed. Not only the emulated machine crashed, openMSX itself crashed as well. The other machines worked just fine.
I hope for you ToriHino can do something with this.

Hmm ok i'll take a look at that, it's especially helpfully that it is reproducible on the emulator.

Thanks ToriHino! I hope you may be able to find out what's the deal with the Philips machines. I would love to be able to listen to my own (and other's) SID tunes on my MSX Smile Did you ever try it on a real Philips?

Did you know you can play SID files on an MSX using a real SID chip? It's inside a big multicartridge called playsoniq. It's really funny, but I bet people from C64 world don't like it so much. I hope (most of) the chips came from dead C64s, but who knows.

Actually RoboSID supports the PlaySoniq as well, you can even play simultaneously on both the OPL4 and PlaySoniq.

Btw I think i found the problem on the Philips machines, please try this new version: RoboSID 1.8
Edit: Oops, too soon, still found problems with this one as well

You're on the right track ! This one is better, and some tunes play much better now. There are still some problems, but it is way better than it was. So, what did you find out is the deal with these Philips machines? I am eager for the final fix :)
