Which song of Wolf_ was this, and was it licensed in a way that allows you to use it in your game?

I like the player space ship, that's some konami quality graphics there.

You probably missed Scramble Manbow, Fantasm Soldier Mario and Popeye World then.

That sounds like a bad idea to me! The game seems to run fast enough the way it is now, so why change it to assembly? You would no longer be able to work on the game code yourself! You’d be completely dependent on Daemos’s time…

He has a very good point here. And I would follow grauw's advice in this matter. The engine runs very nice and smooth. It just needs the things it needs and then its done.

Once you have the whole engine to work see if you can polish up the sprits and tiles. while the results are allready there its not MSX2ish enough. Keep up the good work.

Some idea's: explosions when a sprite is hit (explosion sound would be a big plus), some wave patterns for the enemy sprites, and hmm. Maybe an endboss? Just thinking here.
