Btw, hey! You don't need Ethernet! RS232 is very easy to use (easier than Ethernet, I dare to say) with good software support on both sides. I have a cable laying from my MSX to my PC, ready to be connected if I need it, so as far as I am concerned go ahead Smile.

JoyNet is a bit more complicated story, but with some effort it could also do the job, the hardware exists already. Although I don't know how difficult it will be to access the printer port directly in Windows XP, you probably need to install a system driver for that.

There is no reason why MoonSound emulation could not be perfect. However, it is a lot of work to get all the details right. But not more work than writing a tracker GUI, I think.

If you want to use the MSX hardware, I agree with Grauw that RS232 is the easiest way to do it. For transferring notes it is fast enough: you can probably transfer an entire song in a second or so. For transferring samples it is rather slow, but you could cache them on MSX HD or transfer them using a CF card.
