OK.

#include <stdio.h>
void main(void)
{
printf("Hello, MSX World!");
}

Is this right?

A>copy con hello.c a:
#include <stdio.h>
void main(void)
{
printf("Hello, MSX World!");
}
^Z
       1 file copied
A>c hello.c

I'd say "copy con a:hello.c". It will copy FROM the CONsole TO the hello.c file on the A drive, current directory. But furthermore I think you're correct. I don't know what arguments you should supply to the C compiler, but I'm pretty sure that there's some kind of help file sneaking around somewhere.

"Copy" seems to be a pretty powerful editor. Where can I download it? :-)

You can also use SDCC to cross develop in C. There is some startup code/backend that can be found at http://msx.gabiot.com/index_en.html.
That's what I am using to make cross developing in C through my PC and msys.

I think that the books only teaches block scrolling.
8x8 characters scrolling.

SCREEN IV concept should intriguing.
Imagine ,windowed mode with characters and pixels.
This will be fine for adventure or colorful games!
I could try ...

SDCC is full of bugs, one of them affects comparisons and could make program something the source of a lot of headaches.

I abandoned the development of IRC client because of this bug.
