Hi folks ....

I was away some months, right after I began work on my MSX-Projects -> http://www.websamba.com/retroman

Some of you might remember the discussion about a Streaming WAV Player for MSX on this forum as well .....

The sad news, I had a fire in my house, destroying 80% of my old computer collection ;( You might guess now, why I wasn´t able to get here and take part in the "MSX Life" !

So, after I sorted out some things and made some repairs here .... I´m back .....

Some of the sad news :

Sony HitBit 75P -> destroyed
Philips VG-8235 -> destroyed
Philips VG-8010 -> looks very ugly now but still works !!!
Sony HitBit 700D -> works but keyboard was destroyed

So ..... if anyone here got a spare Sony HB700D Keyboard or other MSX Hardware for sale, PLEASE send me an EMail and sell it to me .... right now I have to stick to openMSX to use MSX but thats no real fun ;(

oh, Email is -> retroman(NOSPAM)@bluemail.ch

... thx a lot !!!!

hmm.. the hardware is not the real disaster I guess, you can replace them. But if your own stuff (disks/cd's) was destroyed, well, that sux big time then.. you can never get them back.

Best of luck with everything! Fire really sucks... (understatement of the year)
I have a F700D, but unfortunately without keyboard (and diskdrive) too :/
I hope you didn't lose too much software!

Luckily enough, most of my Software was stored in a metal cabinet, so that´s a bit of sunshine in that desaster !

It's really sad to see some MSXes die this way, though :/

I hope you (and most of your stuff) are all-right again. About the Honey magazines. They were declared freeware on the MCCM CD's in 1997. We will add them to the downloads database somewhere next month (there's a HUGE amount of downloads coming in, so keep track of our frontpage and don't miss a thing of it! Tongue)

Good to see a new MSX page arrive, I'll add a link and a frontpage post in a moment Wink

Hey Smile It´s not about openMSX ! openMSX is a great piece of software indeed, it´s just that it can´t replace a real MSX for me ....

It was a hard time indeed, but luckily enough, no one of my family was hurt and I got almost everything set up again. The last step now was, to get back online and get my life back and retro computing is a big part of it Wink

I'm sorry to hear this. I had a similar experience some 5 years ago... with me everything got destroyed except a pair of socks and a trainer-pants Sad

I hope u DID have insurrance then and really great that u stored ur stuff in a metal case (I wish i done that with my 500+ cd's) Sad

Well, I hope u can come through this setback...

I know it's hard to build up everything again from scratch but u must believe in it Smile Objects are not that important Smile
