I suppose. But, this means youll have to buy each and every game you want to play, instead of piratin' them!

i mean, .... finding them on the ground.

Too late, I already won the FS-A1F on YHJ. But hey, now I've officially joined the fray! Woot.

That's great, I'd definitley like to see some photos of it when you get the chance. :)

take it from me..... you want to wait it out. You need more RAM, especially if you plan to get a CF interface to play .rom's. I learned alot waiting it out to finally find the ideal MSX2 system.

64kb won't cut it. You'll end up needing a ram expansion, and a CF interface, so that fills both cart slots, which means youll need a cart slot expander also, which is all $$$$$, which could be saved if you wait it out and buy a more formidable MSX! :)

Well with a FS-A1F and MegaFlashRom SCC, he can play all the Roms he wants. Having teh Awesome MSX2/TR setup with tons of ram, hard disk, slot expander, moonsound, etc would be nice, but as a typical gamer all that hardware doesn't go to use. When I think about all the games I played that needed extra Ram, it'd be english translations of Snatcher and SD-Snatcher, nothing else comes to mind. I don't play any other european games except on cassettes and Japanese games don't benefit from extra Ram, so my external 4mb Ram cartridge just stays on a shelve collecting dust waiting for the next day I want to play SD-Snatcher again. I will say that the CF interface is cool though since its faster than a disk drive and storage space is great, but not all dsk games work perfectly from a hard disk which a bummer. I don't want to discourage you, I'm just saying you don't need to invest obscene amounts of $$$$ on a suped up MSX2 and all the hardware accessories to have fun playing MSX games.

my mistake, I thought some games needed more than 64k! And not planning on disk games makes it even easier too...

but hey whats this megaflashrom scc thing?

Time to research!

Hmm! not bad.... its like an alternative to the CF interface. I like that its got SCC built in...

hmmm.....

Mostly European disk games do. Not any Japanese MSX2, or 2+ game, AFAIK.

Wrong, it's a flashable MegaROM with SCC. See http://personales.mundivia.es/mpazos/flashrom/index2.html

ok, its like an alternative for me personally...... since I was going to use the CF to play .roms pretty much....

What's the relation between the CF and playing ROMs then, according to you? There's nothing a CF will do for you to play ROMs, AFAIK.

CF has more storage space and is faster than loading them off a floppy!

You'll only notice faster loading when running dsk games, not so much with roms though. Wink
