Hey there, I'm looking for an MSX2 system, preferably something like a Panasonic FS-A1 or similar. I'm mainly interested in a barebones MSX2; no disk drive, 64K RAM, etc. If you have one for cheap, let me know. Or, if you have a cheap MSX1, I'd be interested in that as well.

Oh, and if you have any game carts or controllers, that'd be nice.

Remember that if you are in USA, it should be a Japanese MSX2!

That's exactly why I put it in the title. Tongue

You should look in Yahoo auctions in Japan. I got some stuff from there. I think you can get FS-A1 for 1000 Yen or less. But if you don't speak Japanese/got someone to send it over to your country it might be diffuclt.

Yeah, why? If this going to be your first MSX you'll only regret wasting money on something like Panasonic FS-A1. You can't even play Aleste 2 on this machine. You'll need to find a FDD interface which are harder to come by than a MSX2.

If you think a MSX2 without disk drive is cheaper...it's not. Most MSX2 are priced the same, just wait patiently and save up until a MSX2 w/ disk drive appears for sale on ebay or here on the forums.

No, it's just that I don't usually bother with floppies (except for the C64 and Famicom Disk System). That, and there aren't enough games on disk that catch my interest.

Alright, I went and bid on an FS-A1F on Yahoo Japan, so let's see how it goes...

take it from me..... you want to wait it out. You need more RAM, especially if you plan to get a CF interface to play .rom's. I learned alot waiting it out to finally find the ideal MSX2 system.

64kb won't cut it. You'll end up needing a ram expansion, and a CF interface, so that fills both cart slots, which means youll need a cart slot expander also, which is all $$$$$, which could be saved if you wait it out and buy a more formidable MSX! Smile

I'm not interested in any of that; I'm only interested in carts so I think the FS-A1F will do me fine.
