Can anyone tell me a good source of reasonably priced OPLL (Yamaha YM2413), Z80, 9938/9958 and most importantly CXA1645M chips?

Well, I saw those, but 11+5 is very expensive, especially with Canadian dollar going down compared to US$ all the time... It would be cheaper for me to desolder 'em from old SCHP-1001 boards then buy it off this seller.

I did get a batch of 10 CXA2075 chips for about 20$ for all a few years ago. They work really well, except they consume a lot more power then CXA1645, and can't be used without stronger power supply circuitry...

As for Z80, I want the 20MHz PLCC version, it overclocks really well to about 28MHz, especially if you stick one of those heatsinks for videocard memory chips on them.

Anyway, I'll keep looking.

Well, Zilog have the option to sample some of there chips, I did this some weeks ago , and they send me one
IC 10MHZ Z180 CMOS MPU 68-PLCC and a IC 20MHZ Z80 CMOS CPU 44-PLCC for free, so you can give it a try.
