Vampier did it! He acceded to Sotano Msx bbs with OpenMsx!
There much people ask me that.
Vampier! I summon you! Please tell me how you did it!
I used ubuntu and not openMSX - there is no network support for it yet I'll try later with gr8net
Hei, Thanks for the callback Vampier! Indeed adding network support to a MSX emulator is not trivial... let's hope to get a solution. Gr8net is out of my budget at the moment
I think blueMSX might have network support - I never used it though. BlueMSX used to be windows only so the implementation of network support might have been easier.
Hopefully I'll connect on there. Would be quite fun

It does, Bluemsx emulates obsonet, you need to have winpcap or similar installed, and use internestor lite, then you can use msx hub, my telnet client and so on, I use it to debug my unapi software.
I'll put a few hints on how to set up Bluemsx with a hard disk, nextor and obsonet, hopefully it will help. Obsonet isn't really the best as it puts the burden of the whole tcp IP protocol in the 80,but it works up to 3-4KB/s

Which is more than enough to use a BBS, designed for 1200bps modems
BlueMSX supports ObsoNET and you can use it to access the BBS:
