Please disable the help scroller (press S) and music (press M) and restart the computer. Is there any difference?

That is really strange. What is the exact model of your machine? Can you connect it via composite video to a monitor?

Also please dump the configuration EEPROM with the C2CFGBCK utility and send me the dumped file, thanks.

The exact model is an HB-75D that i've flashed new EPROMs to change it to an international 75P. However i just tested it with its original german factory ROMs back in, and the result is the same. I also tested the composite output and the behavior is the same there too. I could still send you the 75P rom i downloaded from the net, or the stock 75D one if you want.

What if you type WIDTH 40 in BASIC?

The default width of BASIC is 37 with two columns left blank on the left and one column on the right. From your image it looks like the image on your TV is misaligned and the left-most ~16 pixels of the active display area are appearing in the left overscan border.

If so, this isn’t a Carnivore2 issue. If your monitor / TV has horizontal adjustment pots (either on the back or inside -be careful opening it up tho, high voltage-), you should tweak them to adjust the position of the image.

Grauw may be right. Set the width 40 in Basic (without Carnivore) and adjust your monitor's geometry.

WIDTH 40 doesn't change anything, but WIDTH 37 does shrink it to a more reasonable level. I don't see how it could be a monitor/TV issue since the built-in BASIC ROM has always shown up normal. In fact, if i boot into the built-in BASIC and type WIDTH 40, it gets stretched off screen just like on the Carnivore2.

Then your monitor is simply misaligned. Set the correct alignment with width 40 and your problem will be gone.

I don't get it, if the monitor is misaligned why would i get two different results depending on whether the cart is inserted or removed?
