If you look BETTER to the video you can see that the first try (around 1:38) was with F1 and DEL presssed (so NOT escape). First try with actually pressing escape after that worked immediately.

You mean this?

Shoosh! I´m trying to buy this cart for cheap! :RNFF:

I see in pic there is MSX tR... At least on A1GT holding ESC during startup is not a great idea as it will delete all of the RTC memory.

You can configure any key to hold (or not to hold) to skip the flashed ROM.

My bad, it looked like he was pressing esc, don’t know why he was trying to press F1 and DEL there’s no talking in the video so wasn’t clear what he was doing.

I have no issiue with Gillian, he refunded me like he said he would so he’s a stand up guy for that. I get you guys defending him and his product, but It’s like i’m not allowed to say anything bad about it, or have a different opinion, and I’m definately not allowed to have issues with it. Agree to disagree. I disn’t like it, and wasn’t working out for me.

Can we conclude that the product works fine, even on a Panasonic FS-A1 and that for some reason related to your specific Panasonic FS-A1 some key presses didn't seem to be recognized? It may mean you will face similar problems in the future with other MSX products....

If a device does not do what a user expected/hoped, if their computer has a defect or if they don't understand how it works it's not the device's fault.
Guillian handled this issue like a gentleman. He refunded a good working product. Many retailers would send the correctly working device back to the customer and charge a fee in stead of refunding it.

You are allowed to say everything about the product you want. Everybody has different expectations and hopes and that's what makes us human. But that's also subjective. The defence Guillian got from the scene is objective since the MFR does what it advertizes.

Yes Manuel I absolutely agree with that.

What works great for me is the Original Snatcher sound catridge in slot 1, and a musical memory mapper in slot 2 for the extra ram required to play the english translated version of Snatcher. I also use the original Snatcher sound cartridge with SD Snatcher. No issues with this setup, as a bonus the musical memory mapper let’s me play any game on disk that requires extra ram to play.

Original carts like Metal Gear working great, and I also recently bought SD Snatcher so I’ll have the original SD Snatcher sound cartridge aswell.

I’m glad you guys like the MFR and it works great for you guys. I also agree Guillian is a good guy and I already said I was too harsh about his product in this thread.

Ok, old thread.. I know Wink, but I am experiencing the same issues described by the OP.

My cart was fine a while ago. I didn't use it for a number of years, until today.. only to find out that ESC does NOT stop the cart from booting the ROM/DSK loaded in flash (in my case, I load DSK files).

I know how the cart works, it just stopped bypassing/erasing the flash.

I also used the method with holding UP, selecting F1, confirming with YES, followed by a message of successful erasing of flash. Rebooting the machine still makes the cart boot from the image I tried to delete from flash.

I also tried OPFXSD /C. That also gives a neat message saying it erased flash, but that also does not work. Cart keeps booting from the DSK that was loaded earlier.

Are there any other people experiencing this? What to do..? The only way to prevent the cart from booting the DSK is to boot it without the SD-card inserted. It then boots to Multimente.

Are you sure you didn't put something in the autoexec.bat of the flash card's first partition?
