Yeah, the Xak and Aleste 2 translations are looking awesome, and really deserve to be preserved before getting lost forever.

I'm wondering what other games have been translated and published on Woomb by the same team?

The same translator did "Firehawk" and the "Melancholia" (SD Snatcher retranslation) project at least.
Retranslations of Fray (Turbo R) and Randar III were planned, if I remember correctly, but were stuffed deeply into the freezer.

Melancholia is not project Woomb though, so you can get it from the website! It’s really a great translation, check out the trailer.

But yeah, would love to have access to those other translations :). That Fray translation also looks rad so hope that will sometime see the light of day as well.

That's only the demo version Grauw, and ofcourse I was talking about Sama (and not about Woomb), who did all these translations. Smile

Technically Randar III translation we started before SD-Snatcher and did a good progress. But after some time we completely switched to SD-Snatcher. Sama did translations for both of the games. The biggest issue with Randar III was that game do not have one engine for all the locations. Each location has a separate code and has to be re-coded almost from scratch. This requires a lot more time than most of the other games. Hopefully one day we will finish Randar III, but at this moment it has been on hold for almost 7 years.

Fray Turbo-R has been translated by 232 (Tsunami). We did many other games with him as well and you can find them here: http://www.msxtranslations.com/translations.php. Even we did a good progress on it as well (all script is translated), the overall translation is far from being finished. At this moment project is also on hold. Main reason also is the size of the project. But we did few other translations since then. Latest has been released few month ago - FM-PAC. In addition to FM-PAC, we have other 2-3 translations almost finished. If time permits we will release them in following months.

How quaint! It's perfectly understandable how this would be a lot of work. Would it be an idea to share the general gist of the game's overall code and outsource the different areas to other coders as well? This seems like an awful lot of work to take on for just one single coder.

Anyway, thanks for your explanations and info on these projects. Any chance on that Andorogynus translation being released in the next year?

While we're on the topic, Max, I don't suppose you know anything about Daiva V translations (either past or future)?

That's the one game I've been waiting to replay if/when there is ever an available translation.

Coding wouldn't be the hardest part. Many testers would be more important to find bugs/errors and play trough all levels again and again.

Regarding Androgynous. The translation is done, but besides music there is some extras we want to add to it. We will do our best to release it this year. But before Androgynous we will release another project that we have been working for over a year. I think it would see the light of the day this month because it's almost finished. We did a lot of progress to finalize it in recent weeks. I think nobody expecting it, but will be very pleased because it's a very popular game.

Yes, indeed, there is translations of Daiva 4 & 5. But they have been done long ago and contain shorten texts. It would not be up to our current standards to release them in this state. But one day...
