It's worth what it's worth. This is the holy grail. I bet It's sold already, the post started in february. Everybody wants this, unless (s)he got it. That keeps the prices for "The Original" MSX1 machines stable, althought they are also rising.
The price is ok, as the buyer spend a lot of money, I supose (s)he know what (s)he's doing.
Sorry for the gendering(s), my daughter told me to do so.

Hi i don´t want to mess around on prices rates. But I advertised the computer and hang pictures so everyone could check what is ofered.

When I first start imoported the MSX stuff these computers where sold at 250 euros or 300 euros. right now these prices would not even cover the cost of the computer in japan. You must add importing taxes, shipment and comissions of the local buyer, of course the Paypal rate and everything else. thats the reason that i recently have not imported as much as I used to do. I know prices are getting higher but this are expensive or cheaper acording what you get. I have imported several machines and not a single one come on perfect condition and some of them where almost for spare parts. Sometimes you would be able to buy TR or MSX2+ cheaper than my rates but some risk would be taken on these options.

Nevertheless for those interested the computer is available yet And the Price would be kept because as you state the TR have not gone done on the Prices never.
So good luck on those interested on buy a TR getting bargains because I would like these be the usual state of things but please talk to the japanese sellers to kept the prices down because that way i would be going back to the 250 or 300 euros rates and also would be importing 10 to 15 computers as i used to do

Regards

I think Daniel is right. Just go to a Japan auction site and look for turboR prices, add shipping and custom costs to Europe/America and pray for the computer to be in good shape...

I really hope we can sharp our FPGA skills as the original hardware is getting older. I'm looking forward projects like the VRoBIT.

IMO 625 euros is too much for ST version. This price more fits the GT version. At least I would never pay that much for an ST. I bought mine for 450.

If A + B + C + D makes it Daniel cost (for instance) 550, he has every right to ask 625. It's too expensive for a turbo R ST with yellow keys indeed. But in his case there are a few priceparts we forget too easily:
- He does the import from Japan for us (waiting and praying what will arrive)
- He pays the extreme shipping costs and insurance
- He repairs them if necessary
- He has to save a few bucks in case he gets a broken computer which makes him loose any profit at all in one instance
- He provides excellent service if anything is not as expected or arrives defective at your address (my experience)

Then again, 625 is too much, so he bought it too expensive. Due to this feedback he might think twice before he imports another ST. That'd be too bad for that guy that's willing to pay anything.

Well, then the computer will remain unsold for a few more years and eventually the 650 euro would be a reasonable price for this ST. The prices for vintage computers are constantly going up, so keeping this computer as an investment will pay off.

Too true... I'm happy I bought my ST just before the madness began... A 2+ is still reasonable affordable, but the turbo R's reach the 1:1 price of their release date. Well, 1:1 indead cuz € 650,- now isn't as much as € 650,- back then.
However I am sure Daniel doesn't really do this business as a long term investment but more as a service combined with his hobby.

as you told prices are going crazy. this ammount is more tan i payed yor my gt years ago. remember I´m a collector and i have too much stuff that today wil be priceless.

But this computers are most of the time avobe 350 euros on Yahoo auctions add some shipping with in Japan plus shipment to europe plus customs 21% VAT in spain of the computer Price + shipment and and the job of restoring them and this is what finally comes. my first computer bought on yahoo auctions for my coections was a TR GT on perfect shape payed 400 euros today i would not let it go below 900 euros you know what? because replace it would cost that.

You must realice that 1992 for us (40 years old people) looks to be yesterday but belive it or not it is
long long time ago (but not in a Galaxy far away) and japanese are not idiot and want their profits for their MSX.

regards.

Very true. I paid 900EUR for my mint boxed Turbo R GT from Japan. I did replace the transformer and power cord to 230V and swapped the drive for a PC drive. I also still have a mint ST that I also converted for which I paid if I remember right 600EUR.
