Thanks, NYYRIKKI! Big smile

Edit: too sad. For both songs I get a "direct statement in file". The line 680 seems to be corrupted in both.

This forum tends to crap sources inside code blocks... Most of the time pressing Quote before copying helps, but anyway I sent these to you also by mail now.

NYYRIKKI, can you also send me those? It will be great to test in WMSX.
Thanks!

Doesn't this forum have attachment support?
We could just attach .BAS files...

I think that would be great attaching small .BAS or .TXT files

Hi guys.

I'm starting to study the V9958. Up to now it seems straight forward, but there is one thing I couldn't undserstand:

What happens if you use the VDP Commands in 9918 modes? The manual says it should be treated as in mode 7 (Screen 8), but how come?
In Pattern modes, how can one specify the color to set, for instance? How are coordinates specified, and how does it affect the patterns on screen? What are the pages available?
How can it work in a pixel-based way, like the manual suggests?

Thanks,
Paulo

It means it treats the VRAM layout just like screen 8 (minus the interleaving I guess); that is, a copy from (0, 1) with size (64, 2) to (0, 256) will copy 64 bytes from 100H to 10000H and another 64 bytes from 200H to 10100H.

The point is that from VRAM handling perspective it works like in SCREEN 8 meaning that 128KB VRAM = two pages of 256x256 bytes interleaved to 2 VRAM chips (== A0 & A16 swapped)... In real life using the commands in 9918 modes is useless as it just causes a mess... or at least it must be some very special case.

Ps. Sorry that I didn't upload the BAS-files... I didn't notice your request.
