In relation to this thread, I've thought it would be a good idea and useful for us to open a new one trying to collect all the information about the non specific MSX hardware that features the same components or devices compatible with the MSX standard. If we have the chance to buy one of these products at reasonable price we could access to a source of hidden MSX hardware like chips, mouses and use them as spare parts. Yes, we know that there are still original parts like VDP, soundchips, etc on sale but who knows in near future... Please feel free to complete or fix the next information:

Sony HB-A5000 and HB-A5050 Electronic Sketch Pad (V9938).

Sony HB-A5700 and HB-A5710 Electronic Sketch Pad (V9958).

Sony HB-B7000 and HB-B7070 Animation Computer (Z80+V9938).

Sony XV-T33F Video Sketch Titler (Z80+V9938). More information related here.

Sony XV-T550 Multi Video titler (MSX2 hardware based+Sony MOS-2 mouse).

Sony XV-J550 Multi Video titler (Sony MOS-1 mouse). It is the Japanese version of the XV-T550.

Sony XV-J770 (Z80+V9938+Sony MOS-1 mouse).

Sony XV-J777 (Z80+V9938+Sony MOS-1 mouse).

Roland MU-1 Mouse (Same as Sony MOS-1, Philips SBC 3810 and Panasonic FS-JM1). More information related here.

Roland DT-100 Digitizer Tablet (Same as Philips NMS-1150 Graphic Tablet). More information related here.

Panasonic VW-KT300 (V9958+Z80+Panasonic FS-JM1 mouse). More information related here.

Pioneer UC-V102 (MSX hardware based + MSX keyboard same as Mitsubishi ML-G3, ML-G30, ML-G30MkII).

There are some devices that need to be confirmed such as Victor JX-T500 and JX-T800 Video Titler (they probably feature Z80+V99X8), Sony XV-T600... On the other hand and as far as I know, the FM-Towns computer joysticks and mouses are also MSX compatible.

Sony XV-T600 -> comes with a MSX-compatible Sony GB-6 Trackball. But XV-T600 isn't MSX based. Main CPU is a RICOH 6502-compatible and Video processor are from RICOH, too. Totally unrelated with MSX VDPs.

Victor JX-T800 -> Z80 and V9958 inside. Can't say if it's MSX-based or only have those two same chips.

About Roland Digitizer and Mouse: they are/were hard to find. Usually the Roland Synth forums recommends to buy some MSX based mouse because they are easier to find than Roland branded ones.

Panasonic VW-KT300: it's MSX based. You can even remove the 256KB ROM and put an MSX1+MemoryMapper BIOS and it will boot fine. MSX2 BIOS doesn't works (yet) because there is a custom mapper and needs to put the right ROM pages on correct slots. The "MSX engine" is a NEC gate array, some pins are missing (like the keyboard ones).

Pioneer UC-V102: Like I said in other thread, to me it is a MSX, not a MSX-based stuff. Look the picture: one MSX cartridge slot, two joystick ports, an MSX compatible keyboard, only the logo is missing. But someone needs to buy it and test to confirm. It's hard to find, too.

There's also the Philips Videowriter 250

No-one has yet opened this complicated machine, but this French website says it's based on Z80 and Philips MSX experience...

Who's talking about XV-C700?
XV-C700 is just an analog signal filter, has no CPU inside.

BTW, that Roland mouse is the one that came with the professional samplers made by Roland in late eighties (S-550, S-770, etc.). Those samplers had mouse and Digitizer Tablet (likely also MSX compatible) and showed very MSXish graphics when connected to a CRT:

I checked its manual, but the RGB out has 320x200 output, it says. Not very MSXy.

Ah, the Service Notes say the VDP is an RF5C16A. See http://soundprogramming.net/manuals/samplers/Roland_S-770_Se... and for the VDP see http://www.datasheetarchive.com/dl/Scans-054/DSAIH000100919.pdf
