Here are some machines I found pictures or info on the Net:

The Toshiba HX-20 EUR has a TMS9129

The Toshiba HX-21 JP has a TMS9928

The Toshiba HX-22 EUR has a TMS9929

The Goldstar FC-200 EUR has a TMS9129

The Panasonic CF-2700 EUR has a TMS9929

The Pioneer PX-7 EUR has a TMS9129

The Pioneer PX-7 JP has the TMS9928, while the PX-V60 JP has the TMS9128

The National FS-4000 has a TMS9128

The Sony HB-701FD has a TMS9928

The Hitachi MB-H50 has the T6950A

There are many other service manuals here, where you can check their VDPs. Keep in mind that there are some models that existed both in Japan and Europe, and the European service manual will show only the VDP of that version.

The lack of a TV-encoder on the board chip seriously suggests that the Daewoo DPC-200 EUR has a TMS9919.

The same goes for the DPC-200 KR: TMS9918.

A similar deduction goes for the Zemmix CPC-51. It should have a TMS9118. Curious bonus: note the rare PSG from Microchip.

Zemmix CPC-50B: No TV-Encoder chip also means TMS9118.

Zemmix CPC-50A: TMS9918

Sanyo PHC-28L EUR and PHC-28S EUR: TMS9929

Sony HB-75: TMS99XX

Sony HB-10P: T6950

Spectravideo SVI-728: TMS9128 (NTSC) and TMS9129 (PAL)

Sorry but the brown daughterboard with the RF modulator has a Mitsumi LVA510 and a 4.3Mhz oscillator crystal in it. That's the Y R-Y B-Y to CVBS converter system. The Korean version indeed does not have the daughterboard so must be the TMS9918.

And no there's no such a thing as TMS9919. The datasheet from TI even explains that for PAL regions only TMS9929 is available. :)

You're right. I missed the LVA510 in the CP-200 EUR. Could you please double-check the other TMS9x18 machines?

Sorry, I've been looking a lot, but I never found anything that resembles a MSX VDP with internal PAL CVBS encoder, it's always a 50Hz VDP (fixed or selectable) clocked with a NTSC colorburst multiple frequency (except for the brazilian ones, since PAL-M colorbust frequency is really close to NTSC one and they went cheap at this point), outputing Component or RGB colors to an external encoder like the LVA510, which uses a european PAL colorbust frequency crystal oscillator.

And for the same reason, I don't believe that we'll ever find any MSX computer with this arrangement, since CVBS encoder embedded VDPs uses the same oscillator base frequency (divided by 3 on Texas's VDPs and by 6 on V9938) as colorburst frequency.

Oh yes, that implies that Brazilian MSX are slightly slower than any other, almost unnoticeable to most people. (3.579545MHz vs 3.575611MHz) but that's not the point here and since I'm the new guy here I'm assuming you all already know this.

Does anyone here have the TMS91xx datasheets? (the ones that work with 41464/4464) NOT the TMS99xx ones.

Not me… interesting Smile.

Yes, there's no such thing as TMS9919. After looking at so many pictures of so many machines, I ended up with the mistake of copying the deduction of the Korean DPC-200 to the EUR one. Good thing l_oliveira spotted the TV-Encoder.

This is why it's good to double check everything. Smile

My Yamaha CX5M has "TMS9929ANL"

On PCB (Mainboard) Under the CHIP it states: TMS9928A also (TMS9918A)
