You can cut the SRAM pins and solder it upside down under the BIOS connector. Like this:

Just leave the pins that aren't parallel unconnected.

Just take all address/data lines from slot connector. You can directly connect /OE and /WE from SRAM to slot connector /RD and /WR

That would work. I just thought it might be easier to connect the wires to the BIOS socket. It really sits on a socket, not directly soldered on the board.

Basically you only need to wire the SRAM right and it will work correctly. No additional parts are needed.

Yes. Thanks for the info!

Good afternoon. I know it is a very old post, but I have not found another one and I need to make an extension, my electronic level is 1/10 ... if you have any photo or small scheme even if it is done in pencil I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

P.S. I have a black screen in this MSX, I have changed Z80, ROM but I am not sure if I have burned the correct file in 27C256, Ay-3-8910 and TMS9120NL, I already have a signal but still with a black screen, I want to download the RAM, so I ask for this information.

This is actually my old thread! And I still haven't done that memory upgrade! Crazy

When I used the machine, I just used it with the internal 32 K disconnected and my DIY SRAM "card" in a slot (not cart because it really is just a proto PCB).

Burned in 27C256, I hope you didn't burn those other chips... Wink

But even with a wrong BIOS it should show something on the screen, I think.

Tracing the fault by randomly changing parts isn't the best practice. I hope you have some measuring device.

Thanks for answering. I do not have adequate devices or knowledge of handling them, only of polymeters. So and with help from foreros I have repaired many equipment. If you keep any scheme or idea to finish the project I would appreciate it, I would love to return this machine back to life :cara:

You do have a multimeter, right? Check the voltages. And check the electrolytic capacitors.

Indeed I have it and the voltages are correct, however I have thought about changing as you indicate the capacitors. Thanks for the help, I will comment results after the change. Regards.quote]
