no problem Abi

This is probably not a good time to bring up that my last copy IS different in one way: On the inside the box is not the same as the Snatcher ones where on the right side u have room for disks in the upper half and room for a rom on the lower half. With normal MG2s there is a cardboard piece that covers the plastic inside so only the rom space can be seen.

With my MG2 copy the plastic is made the same way, except that on the right hand side of the inside of the box, there is NO explicit space for disks or ROM. The cardboard piece that covers that area has a cutout that leaves room for the ROM. However this cardboard piece is not equal to the one in regular MG2s. It's solid black with a white Konami logo in the upper left corner.

As far as I know, this box was used as a temporary solution when the regular boxes ran out. It was a very popular game when it came out, so shortage of package materials such as boxes could easily have happened. U could make a case that this version is rarer than the regular one...

Anyone with more info is welcome to contribute

Yo guys,

When you're talking 'bout a Korean version you mean the 'Zemina' version???

Getting a little confused if so...

I'm sure I can C the KONAMI logo on the pics! Tongue

BTW are these Zemina carts not rounded at the upperside?? and NOT flat like the konami ones??

The Korean MG2 (in the smaller box) everybody is talking about is NOT an official Konami releas.
I saw it not so long ago. The cover has been photocopied and made smaller to fit in a smaller box. Look closely and you'll see it's exactly the Japanese cover with japanese text and because it's a photocopy not very sharp! The cart itself is a normal (non Konami) cart with a label on it which also has been photocopied from the original Japanese version. This so called Korean version is nothing but an illegal/non original Konami reproduction and has no value for real collectors. If you just want one for playing you can buy one but remember not to pay as much as people are paying now for the original Japanese version.

WOW! A little confusing! Smile

Is it possible to buy these conversion MSX carts (if it ain't illeal), and not at rediculous prices. I am only a gamer, not a collecter so this kind of stuff wouldn't bother me.

As far as I know, it's legal licensed one though it's cover was photocopied of Japanese one and the catridge case was not original Konami's.

no real value for real konami collectors?
I do not agree that, i am a real konami collector and want also the korean (not legal as you say, but imo there is no original software audio cd's in Korea at all) versions of konami games which are 'legally'sold in Korea.

Hi Abi,
I don't mean no value at all, just a lot and a lot less!
Look it's probably nice to have a copy, but for that money i rather have 1 or 2 genuine games don't you?
I am not saying i will never buy one for a low price.
What if i took a 3rd size box (size between the "Korean" and "Japanese" ) and photocopied the original cover and adjust the size so it would fit that box and put in a MG2 cart and said it's the chinese version???
Then i would have a very rare item, only one in the world!!! Smile

we all know the korean version, there a made many of them.
Offcourse i am not interseted in a full copy box/label printed version like you mentioned.
And offcourse the korean version are less worth then the japanese versions.
I paid 80 euro's for my korean Metal Gear2 with box and manual and that's a nice price for a game that plays like the original one.
