The first entry for the Scene Remake Challenge 2 is in! MSX user Meits has created a remake of the -old- Wolf tune Callisto's Theme, a tune which once competed in a Moonblaster challenge organized by Sunrise. More entries from Meits are in the pipeline already, so stay tuned!

Other MSX'ers have already announced to enter this competition with tune or two. There are over two months left for an entry and there are still plenty of scene tunes to choose from. Scene-made games, Music disks, Demo disks, Picture disks and Disk magazines are all a rich source of ideas, and you can find them in our download section.

The prize for the winning entry will be an MP3 cartridge, manufactured by Yobi and DD. The jury has yet to be announced. You can send in your entries to smr@msx.org until December 18th, 23:59 CET, preferably as 192Kbps MP3. Additionally, some information on how and why the entry was created is also much appreciated. Happy arranging!

Cool, this Track, which appeared on muzax#2 iirc, was always one of my fave.

I remember vaguely Stefan B. begged MOA to participate in that SRM-contest, because he didn't want Wolf_ to win (apparently a young and innocent Wolf_ announced he was definitely going to win, even before submitting his entry). In fact, MOA was guaranteed a number one spot. But then again, my memory may serve me wrong.

I liked both Wolf_'s and MOA's song BTW.

Oo what kinda nonsense is that? I didn't even really know Stefan prior to that compo, other than seeing his name in SRM etc. The only connection between me and 'Sunrise' back then were 3 letters which I sent directly to Remco Schrijvers regarding Moonblaster bugs/ideas/talks. Later on I did some music for picdisks/SRM's, but iirc that was far after that compo.

Didn't mean to offend you, wolf_. It's been 15 years ago, perhaps I'm mistaken and I'm confused by something else. Don't know. Thought it was quite funny. Sorry.

Not sure if I add more tunes.
Somehow I can't make music anymore the way I used to due to lag.
I got a new way which I'm trying to learn, but even there I get unstable tempos.

Quite crappy, so to speak...

If I get stable tempos that is... cubase+revisit is going like a truck on a sandpath oO

If I don't find a better way, I might leap back to Moonsound :S

Or not... Big smile

Maybe my (quite recently installed) windows xp generates too much overhead, but when i chose another bpm than 120, things start to go wobbley Question

Using an AMD2800MHz pc, an Edirol usb MIDI-interface and some hardwaresynths (no softsynths here)...
